"Garth did a great job on our bathroom ceiling. He is friendly, punctual, and was a great communicator. He gave us tips to keep the ceiling from peeling. We chose to paint the ceiling ourselves and he suggested what product to use to effectively do so."

"We could not be any happier with the work done by Vasyl and his team! We had him do a rather large project for us involving patching of various sized holes, removing the texture from all the ceilings and retexturing them after. From start to finish every aspect was fantastic. Vasyl communicated with us through everything, doubling checking that everything was up to our standards during the process. He showed up on time, kept the workspace clean, livable and worked efficiently. Vasyl was able to recommend two different colleagues of his to do some tile work and wood work for us, both of which turned out excellent! Vasyl takes pride in his work and shows. This was the most stress-free renovation, many thanks to this team."

"Mark and Twin Cities Drywall were great! Mark was very responsive and communicated with me throughout the process of the project. Once it was all done the ceilings look fantastic! They also did a wonderful job of cleaning up after. I'm actually using Mark and Twin Cities Drywall for some painting and other patchwork throughout my house because of his work on my ceilings."

"The service and support were great. Mike and his crew was looking out for my best interest throughout this remodel. The finished product looks absolutely beautiful. You almost wouldn't believe this is the same house before and after is so different. This remodel was finished on time (less than a month) and on budget. I was very happy and kind of shocked that they could do so much work so quickly. Mike is fair, responsive, polite, and easy to deal with. If you want something done, you only need to ask him once and you know it will get done right, and get done fast. I've done work with plenty of other contractors and Higgins Construction has been by far the easiest to work with."

A drop ceiling is a type of secondary ceiling that is dropped down below the actual ceiling of a room, hence the name. It’s made up of ceiling tiles (made of fiberboard, foam, wood, metal, or plastic) supported by a metal grid. The space between the drop ceiling and the structural ceiling can be used to hide wiring, pipes, and HVAC ducts.
Most drop ceiling installations take about two to three days, including the time needed to build the grid frame, install it, and place each ceiling tile properly. Your installation might take more time if you need to modify plumbing, HVAC ducts, or electrical wiring to accommodate the new ceiling.
Most drop ceilings require a clearance of at least three inches from the structural ceiling, though you’ll likely need more than that to make space for pipes, ducts, lights, fans, sprinklers, or wiring. In many places, building codes require a minimum ceiling height of seven feet, which can limit the amount of clearance you’ll have between your drop ceiling and structural ceiling.
Yes, you can paint a drop ceiling, but it’s not always recommended. Painting a drop ceiling can sometimes void your warranty because using improper paint or technique can cause the tiles to sag. Paint can also negatively affect the fire resistance, soundproofing, and light reflection of the panels. Consider these downsides before taking on ceiling painting costs.
