"Angelo was hired to repair/replace drywall damage from a re-piping. His skills and service are truly impeccable, went above and beyond to help me put my house back together and the job is so well done you can't tell the walls and ceiling were patched. Angelo is also a very honest and genuine person, I would hire him again and intend to have him do some work on my mother's house."

"Vinny and his wife are absolutely awesome! They are very kind courteous great communication and excellent excellent work! We purchased a home and had about 1300 ft² of popcorn ceiling that needed to be removed. We also had a room that we removed wood paneling from and the drywall needed to be skimmed. They did an amazing job you couldn't even tell that any work had been done. We absolutely recommend them for any job you may have! We will definitely keep their number for anything we need in the future"

"I am a 73 year old widow.. I have had an on going water leak in the ceiling of my master bedroom. After spending several thousand dollar in an attempt to repair the leak (to no avail) Hammer Construction was recommended to me. I am pleased to say they were efficient, timely, and successful... I wish I had known about them sooner, would have saved me some money. Thank you Humberto!"

"Martin did an amazing job. His job was so good that even when my nurse was visiting me he was shocked as well that you could not tell anything had happened to my walls prior. I had a flood in my house with mold behind the walls and a remediation company came to take care of the mold and dry out the walls but I was left with walls that had no drywall on them no asbestos nothing and Martin not only made the room look like nothing had ever happened before but he also used quality material. the drywall that he used I saw I was mold resistant and moisture resistant The price was very reasonable for the dining room and the ceiling of the foyer and every place where there was a light was cut to perfection and the paint matched extremely well I asked Martin if he does any other type of repairs around the home and he does and I put him on speed didn't. I'll see if I can upload before and after pictures"

Ask the following questions to make sure you know what’s involved and that you’ve hired a good team:
Is your company licensed, bonded, and insured?
What is the best tile size for my project?
What fire rating do my ceiling tiles need?
How long will it take to install the drop ceiling?
What is the height of the finished drop ceiling?
Most residential building codes require a minimum ceiling height of 7.5 feet from the floor to the finished drop ceiling, ensuring adequate headroom and safety compliance. Since requirements can vary by location, consult your local code enforcement office or a professional installer to confirm the specific clearance needed for your project.
Installing a drop ceiling results in a loss of ceiling height ranging from 3 inches to 8 inches. The exact amount depends on factors like the size of the fixtures above, such as ductwork or lighting, and the manufacturer's recommendations for installation. Local building codes also dictate minimum ceiling heights, so it's important to consult with a professional installer to determine the optimal drop distance for your specific space.
Installing drywall costs between $1.50 and $3 per square foot for materials, labor, and finishing—significantly less than the $9 to $13 per square foot average for a drop ceiling. While drop ceilings come with a higher initial cost, they offer greater design flexibility, easy access to utility lines, and are simpler and less expensive to repair. To minimize expenses, consider budget-friendly fiberboard panels, though their appearance may be less appealing to some homeowners.
Drop ceilings offer several advantages and disadvantages.
Pros:
Easy to install and repair
Conceal stains, ductwork, and other unsightly elements
Provide quick access to ducts and wiring for maintenance
Available in various styles to suit your design preferences
Cons:
Reduce ceiling height
Tiles may require replacement after a few years
Less sturdy than traditional ceilings
Installation can be more time-consuming than drywall
Removing a drop ceiling costs between $2 and $7 per square foot, which includes disassembling the rail system and removing tiles. Factors such as ceiling size, accessibility, and disposal fees affect the total cost. If you're removing a drywall ceiling, expect costs of $2 to $4 per square foot. Hiring a professional ensures safe removal and proper disposal, preventing damage to underlying structures.
