"Angela and Hire Her Now were wonderful to work with! Great with communication, efficient, and timely. My bathroom and laundry room required a complete gut and renovation and I couldn't be happier with the work they did! The guys and Angela were also really helpful with guiding me through the process of the renovation."

"If we could give more than five stars to Danny and Champion, we certainly would. We had used them previously for several jobs in our old house, but this time we had extensive renovations done to the kitchen in our new co-op as well as new floors and painting throughout our home. (Before and After photos below). We couldn't be happier with everything that was done. Champion's employees are true craftsmen and their work is impeccable. In addition, they are courteous, professional and perhaps most importantly, RELIABLE. If they say they will be there, they will be there. And when they leave at the end of the day, the work area is cleaner than it was when they arrived. We recommend Champion without hesitation for any home remodeling you many need, and I know when we are ready for our next project we will choose them again without hesitation."

"We talked to a few GCs, a few Chimney Guys , our Architect Friend and our Heating and Cooling guy to figure out what the heck to do with this mess. Our Architect friend and Heating guy gave us a venting plan(metal duct work run out the side of the house.) William Moore(Bud) of Above & Beyond pulled everything together and made it happen for a reasonable price. Bud patiently listened to all our concerns and we talked through the priorities that we needed address in our house. Bud is very knowledgeable and personable. He gave us pros and cons on different ways to solve the problems and made very good recommendations. 1 year later I am still very pleased with his work and looking forward to having him help us with future projects, Bud's crew were very friendly and respectful guys. Detail of work done: Garage: Insulated wall and ceiling were it meets with garage and install raftermates on roof for breathing purposes. Installed new 5/8" sheetrock on ceiling and walls in between livingspace and garage. Installed new fire rated door in between living space and garage. Installed new coax cable to existing location and ethernet to two new locations. Installed new AZEK trim board on both vertical trim sides of garage opening. Remove cement block chimney in garage and dispose of debris. Roof: Closed and shingled opening left after chimney removal. Sealed various areas around roof that were leaking or potentially prone to leak in future. Installed a new boot and re-shingled area above master bath that was repaired twice before and still leaked. Results: No more leaks. House is warmer. Car exhaust odors from garage do no seep into house anymore. We are very please. Thanks Bud!"

"Anton was easy to work with. Sent email on a Sunday. He called in five minutes and came that afternoon to look at the job. Replaced baseboard in four bedrooms and repaired a hole in the ceiling. All work was completed in two days starting that Monday. The carpenter that did the baseboards (I think his name is John) was great, neat and did a wonderful job. I will definately call Anton again. "We live in a prewar coop building in Manhattan and were in need of a kitchen, living and dining room/den renovation. Because of the limitations in our building, we were not optimistic that many changes could be made that would dramatically alter the feel/function of the space. Inson Wood proved us completely wrong. With his architectural eye and his impeccable design aesthetic we (and everyone who has been here before and after) experiences our apartment as an entirely different living space. Even family members are shocked at the transformation. I think that what Inson accomplished was the product of a few significant factors. First, Inson asks you what you want and seriously considers how you live. If Inson thinks that different approaches should be considered for what you want, he provides renderings of each option so that you can easily visualize and imagine them. Ultimately, Inson respects your preferences and works with them, elevating them to a level far above what you had imagined. Inson uses the highest quality vendors (whom we NEVER would have found) and expertly guides you through choices (note: follow his recommendations!!!)- our walls would never have had dimension and our kitchen backsplash never have been so unique (two examples) if not for the artisans that Inson uses. Inson is also willing to have you be as much or as little involved in the process as you want to be. I did go with Inson to choose many pieces of furniture but realized after a certain point that his taste point made me confident in him choosing much finishing work (ex: window treatments, decorative cushions, which I love) without me. As with all design work, there are always glitches and Inson was extremely responsive and responsible for taking care of those as they came up. We are nothing less than thrilled to come home each evening and enjoy our space, which feels like a luxurious retreat perfectly tailored to us."

Ask the following questions to make sure you know what’s involved and that you’ve hired a good team:
Is your company licensed, bonded, and insured?
What is the best tile size for my project?
What fire rating do my ceiling tiles need?
How long will it take to install the drop ceiling?
What is the height of the finished drop ceiling?
Most residential building codes require a minimum ceiling height of 7.5 feet from the floor to the finished drop ceiling, ensuring adequate headroom and safety compliance. Since requirements can vary by location, consult your local code enforcement office or a professional installer to confirm the specific clearance needed for your project.
Installing a drop ceiling results in a loss of ceiling height ranging from 3 inches to 8 inches. The exact amount depends on factors like the size of the fixtures above, such as ductwork or lighting, and the manufacturer's recommendations for installation. Local building codes also dictate minimum ceiling heights, so it's important to consult with a professional installer to determine the optimal drop distance for your specific space.
Installing drywall costs between $1.50 and $3 per square foot for materials, labor, and finishing—significantly less than the $9 to $13 per square foot average for a drop ceiling. While drop ceilings come with a higher initial cost, they offer greater design flexibility, easy access to utility lines, and are simpler and less expensive to repair. To minimize expenses, consider budget-friendly fiberboard panels, though their appearance may be less appealing to some homeowners.
Drop ceilings offer several advantages and disadvantages.
Pros:
Easy to install and repair
Conceal stains, ductwork, and other unsightly elements
Provide quick access to ducts and wiring for maintenance
Available in various styles to suit your design preferences
Cons:
Reduce ceiling height
Tiles may require replacement after a few years
Less sturdy than traditional ceilings
Installation can be more time-consuming than drywall
Removing a drop ceiling costs between $2 and $7 per square foot, which includes disassembling the rail system and removing tiles. Factors such as ceiling size, accessibility, and disposal fees affect the total cost. If you're removing a drywall ceiling, expect costs of $2 to $4 per square foot. Hiring a professional ensures safe removal and proper disposal, preventing damage to underlying structures.
