Shaun Dixon, Alex Hernandez, Milton Martin and Dre Nesbitt were the team assigned to replacing the entire foundation of the wedding venue restroom I hired Mount Valley for (from the interior floor to the dirt on the ground beneath...literally). 100% rotten through by years of undetected moisture from inadequate airflow and dehumidification. Shaun (the forman) was in constant communication with me throughout the entire process of rebuilding. He didn't just explain in words, he took time to visually point out the areas this construction would be addressing and what I should expect. Shaun was clear and concise in describing what was being done and answering all of my questions (which was many). "Our 1921 house has a rock foundation with a parged veneer. Some of the parging has cracked over the years, which isn’t unusual or concerning. But 2–3 years ago we noticed the entire veneer over the chimney stack was bowing and beginning to crumble. Very concerning. At first it appeared impossible to get on David Gibson’s schedule for an inspection but AL reviews convinced me he was who we needed. I told him we there was no great hurry and to get back if he had an opening. Luckily we heard back in a month. Once here, it didn’t take long for David to spot the problem. He suspected the base of our chimney stack was pushing slightly inward causing the parging to pull away. Confirmation was outside where David pointed to a nearly undetectable horizontal crack from one side of the chimney to the other. The angle of the gap indicated the base was settling inward. A lot of folks have looked at our problem and suggested everything from water seepage to total foundation failure. But Gibson pinpointed the root issue. David’s solution was to fortify the chimney foundation by building a concrete block superstructure around the interior side and marrying it to the existing rock foundation by drilling-in rebar and fusing the gaps with mortar. It’s impressive. A solid mass likely be standing after everything else has crumbled to dust! David also repaired an area of parging pulling away from an exterior corner and another on an interior wall. He confirmed both were simply surface issues. As everyone else in the reviews states, David is a wonderful person with which to work. He does what he says he’ll do, when he says he’ll do it, for the price he tells you. Communication is excellent. Interaction is entirely pleasant. David Gibson is exceptionally smart, polite, and careful. For sure, we’d rather spend $7,500 on something more fun than a concrete wall, but the piece of mind that comes from knowing it was spent on an expertly considered and executed solution is a comfort."
