"Workers wore masks and kept a good distance when interacting with us. I am thrilled with the concrete leveling. If the driveway sinks again within 3 years they will fix it for free. Nice folks and excellent results."

"Although they put up plastic barriers inside the house, a considerable amount of concrete dust filled the house and central air system.  All installations appear to be working well.

"It went well. Brian responded right away to my purchasing of the deal for the new patio in July. He was not available until mid-August to complete the work, but kept me informed about delays. His team was professional and completed the work in a few days.
Since I live in a town house with limited access to the backyard, Brian talked to the neighbors whose side and backyards were used to access my yard and reassured them that any damage to the grass would be taken care of.
My concrete patio had sunken into the ground so water didn't drain away from the house and the wood frames on my hill were rotting. Now the patio looks great and thanks to the layers under the paver will have better drainage. The hill will now be easier to maintain thanks to Brian's suggestion to put cloth and stones in the frames.
His team was careful to clean up our sidewalks and street when they were finished and reseeded any damaged grass areas, which were also covered with a layer of straw.
I hope to have Brian's team come back periodically to help maintain the hill and complete other small projects.

"Provided a quote that was very competitive with another firm for some concrete and fence work we needed to keep rats out of our backyard.  We ended up going with the other firm who was able to start sooner.  I was very impressed with the estimator and his knowledge and professionalism, and the quote was very thorough.  Would definitely contact them again for future work.

"SEE REVISED NOTES BELOW in CAPS......I had Always replace my front steps, walkway and double wide driveway. The crew did a fine job deconstructing everything and hauling away debris, there concrete work was very good, clean lines, nicely broomed surface, ...but am concerned about a section of the driveway concrete because the second mixer (leForge Jessup) was late requiring the crew to rush and overwork the concrete before it dried. Not really ALWAYS fault but it is a concern. The finishers covered my water shut off valve cover with a thin layer of concrete, easy to remedy....., but most disturbing was the clean up crew filled the ground gaps with excavation material (red clay, concrete debris, and rocks), no real fill dirt.. They left many of the concrete form stakes in and just covered them up. This I had to remedy myself with real fill dirt and reseed, uncover the valve cover, etc... REVISED.....MR. JAMES ALWAYS HAS BEEN VERY RESPONSIVE TO MY ABOVE CONCERNS AND HAS MOVED TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT FOR ME. GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. HAVE RECOMMENDED HIM TO OTHERS."

"Kyle, the president of the company first came out to do a site visit. Really great guy to work with. He listened to what I wanted to do, provided helpful guidance, and I came away with an understanding that this company has the depth of knowledge and professionalism that I was looking for. The fact that the president came out personally meant a great deal to me.
I established and run a business with clients across the US and Canada. I understand the importance of not just excellent customer service, but the depth of expertise I need to convey to a client in order for the client to feel they're in good hands. That's what Kyle did for me on that initial site visit.
While Kyle was working up a bid, I was doing research on the specific pressure treated product I wanted to use in order to maximize lifetime using direct burial. The vendor turned out to be close by, and it was clear that the products at Home Depot and Lowe's were definitely not the way to go. Culpepper Lumber in Virginia provided a lifetime warranty assuming that any field cuts would be coated with Copper Naphthanate. I then provided Kyle an understanding of the products to be used, and he worked with me through the entire process.
There were in fact other companies besides Kyle's that did a site visit, and tried to convince me that what I wanted to do was not correct - one company wanted me to put in a very expensive concrete foundation, and another company did not want to excavate but rather wanted to put the shed up in the air 32 inches. The point is that I was a client with building experience and did extensive research on precisely what I wanted. Kyle went out of his way to work with me, and respected my background and what I wanted to accomplish -  isn't this the relationship you truly want to have with a contractor?
Next, the bid came back and it was the lowest of the bids by a couple of hundred dollars. Kyle also suggested putting in a drain at the low corner, which I didn't even consider - an excellent idea.
On the day of the construction, Kyle personally came out with his team and supervised throughout the day. In fact he did the excavation, and it was pretty impressive to see how precisely he used the excavator to only excavate the designated area without disturbing the grass around it. I had a chance to talk to some of his staff, and clearly these were folks that took pride in the job, we're very knowledgeable, and worked together very effectively. One staffer even told me how this was a great job because they like to do hardscape work, but most of their jobs are softscape.
I was exceedingly impressed with the finished product. Installing a 12 by 20 box on a significant slope and making sure that it is level and square takes significant skill. I personally measured the diagonals and found that the diagonals were within an eighth of an inch of each other. Pretty impressive.
I was so happy with the results that I made sure Kyle knows we have a bunch of other projects for his company.

FAQs for concrete work projects in Glenwood, MD

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
