"I couldn't be more pleased with the work done by Shawn with County Line on installing our new columns! From start to finish, their team was professional, efficient, and a true pleasure to work with. The installation process was smooth, and the attention to detail was second to none. The columns look absolutely stunning and have completely transformed the look of our home. They were exactly what we envisioned, and the quality of the materials and craftsmanship exceeded our expectations. The team was also punctual, tidy, and took the time to explain everything to us, making sure we were completely satisfied with the result. I highly recommend County Line to anyone looking for high-quality work and excellent customer service. We’re thrilled with the outcome and are so grateful for their expertise! "Great job! Easier to enter driveway now and also for mail delivery. The addition at my garage is a great help with a handicapped wheelchair van, so that I now have room for the ramp to open in order to get wheelchair out. They were here on time as promised with everything they needed to get the job completed. These are hard working people who want to please their customers. I have hired them for other jobs, like redoing my deck boards, which is all new now. Very nice people to work with. Thank you for your help. Yes, I would hire them again!"

"My wife and I were thinking of extending both the back patio and the driveway. After calling several businesses, not getting what we wanted, Alberto from Hefty Concrete called me via HomeAdvisor. When I tell you his customer service, knowledge, and communication were BEYOND amazing, it’s an understatement. He came out to our home and asked us what we wanted, and after truly listing to it all (it was a lot) he sent back an estimate within 2 days. We were already excited to move forward with him just off his customer service alone, but when that quote came back, we were completely sold! They did both jobs in less that two days and went ABOVE AND BEYOND working even at night against a deadline and were extremely professional. Ask them anything! No question is too small or bogus. You will be happy you chose Hefty! We sure are!!! Alberto and Raul are top notch!!!!"

"The work was done effortlessly all throughout from the grading and prepping down to the pouring and finishing. Throughout the process I could tell I hired the right company. Ramon with E.M.P concrete along with his crew knew exactly what he was doing, there was no second guessing. I could tell he is a true professional and master of his craft. If i had 100 driveways that needed to be poured I would hire this company time and time again without a doubt."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Greensboro, NC

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
