"The concrete job was done right and expertly. Everything I asked for was completed. Cleaned up and where grass was disturbed, straw was used to encourge regrowth. They are professionals."

"Our yard was left in disrepair by our water company after some water main fixes. A giant ledge was left exposed, and it looked horrific. I wasn’t even certain how the problem could be fixed. My main concern was making the yard look at least as good as it did before. I thought I’d be happy if it looked slightly worse. Freedom nailed the job better than I could have even pictured. He worked with my husband on options and logistics. He was professional, prompt, and they worked so fast without sacrificing quality. I cannot even begin to describe the relief from having this done and not having to worry about the erosion of the mound from the state our yard was left in. Cannot speak more highly of Freedom’s professionalism and courteousness. Husband said they were a breeze to deal with on logistics, and I was genuinely floored by how quickly they completed this for the level of quality we got. Amazing company and would absolutely hire again 100 times over!! Recommending to family/friends."

"These guys were one of the best contractors I've ever dealt with. They were genuinely nice people, trustworthy and knew what they were doing. The proposal part was painless and Jim wasn't the typical, pushy sales guy. More like a trusted advisor. And the price was extremely competitive. They showed up on time, Willie, the crew chief, did a great job of explaining what they were going to do, and they did exactly what he said. No hidden surprises & he kept me informed (and showed me) their progress along the way. They sawed & jackhammered my basement, laid drain tiles, put in a sump pump, carted in a boat-load of gravel & cement. They finished on time, on budget, and when they left, my basement was cleaner than before they started the work! I would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for basement waterproofing or crawlspace work -- the entire experience with them was an absolute pleasure. Not often you can say that about someone who's tearing up your house!"

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
