"Hoffman Concrete provided excellent seam caulking and sealing of our concrete sidewalk and driveway. Hoffman concrete originally poured the sidewalk’s and driveway’s concrete to our design and did a excellent job."

"Midwest Concrete (Tom, Ben, and the guys) gave us a great bid on our pool and concrete work. They were punctual, polite, and worked with great skill. They completed the job in a timely manner and kept the work area clean. We would definitely use them again. Thank you Midwest Concrete!"

Customers say: Super punctual

"This was a pretty big job. Sam and his crew build a new concrete block retaining wall and re-graded my entire back yard to match the new elevation the new wall afforded. All-in, 20+ palettes of block and 230 tons of gravel & topsoil. The end result is a stunning improvement."

"The work seems to be high quality but I was a little disappointed in the clean up efforts.  Also, they agreed to do a minor concrete patch job that was not specified in the original job bid (which I appreciate), but the results were sloppy.

"Team did a great job - and set my expectations up front. Told me concrete may move a bit away from foundation as it raised, but would fill gap. Very satisfied with the results!"

"Had a great experience with Bri-Co and Harold. They gave a fair bid and stuck to it, they showed up when they said they would, charged what they said they would, and checked in on everything regularly with kindness, integrity, and a down-to-earth sense of humor. The workers were also polite and kind, and even came in rough weather to complete the job as they said they would. I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel confident doing so and have even recommended to friends. The result (concrete tie wall) is beautiful and solid. Even the neighbors commented on how great it looks."

"Rep came out and did measurements to give us a quote on replacing our back patio with either poured concrete or pavers.  Everything went well until he came to give us the bids.  As the rep started explaining the 2 products Allen Outdoor offered, he started by telling us that the concrete is a bad choice as it could start to break down within 6 months.  Why would you offer something and then say it's poor quality?  He then went on to explain why pavers (obviously the much more expensive option) would be the only things to stand the test of time.  Since we were trying to keep the process more economical, we asked question about how we could make concrete work for us, but were told again and again how concrete would be a poor choice and would break down quickly.  All said and done, the meeting felt a bit forceful and we didn't feel comfortable trusting a relatively big job to a company that offered us an option that they themselves didn't trust.

FAQs for concrete work projects in Cottleville, MO

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
