"The kitchen in my 110+ year old house was small and difficult, with multiple doors and windows below countertop height. I went with Tri County Kitchens as they specialize in difficult kitchens. Todd (the owner) worked with me as I didn't want to change wide woodwork or expand the space. He came up with a very usable design. His installation crew was prompt, polite and very meticulous. There was a brief delay in finishing due to the pandemic, but that could not be helped. I am very pleased with my new kitchen. Highly recommended!"

"Eric and Bill installed /replacedthe most beautiful window wall. We were so pleased and in awe. Josh recommended a stationary in the middle and that was a great idea. We are bird watchers and love seeing the birds so clear with the quality of the windows. We would recommend using Westshore Homes. Satisfied customer."

"I had steps installed down a backyard slope and an area leveled for a chicken coop. It was a great experience! All the work and the estimate were very clearly laid out and the work was done quickly, carefully, and by a crew of nice guys. I will definitely consider Green Landscaping for future projects!"

"Very well, It took a few days longer than we thought but that is not unusual with an older house with additional plumbing required. The hardwood flooring included the kitchen, hallway and living room. Mark was very helpful in giving input on details that we would not have thought of and was very flexible with design considerations and options on cost of materiel. The granite countertops were well done and the overall cost was within our target range as discussed. Mark's crew were experienced, very friendly and his oversight meticulous! We are very pleased with the end result!"

"I hired Luiz to remove kitchen cabinets, dishwasher, cooktop, oven and lift hardwood flooring. He then reinstalled the cabinets and appliances. Ceramic tile was installed to perfection. He also repaired some walls and painted the ceiling. Looks great! Easy to work with, very professional and fair market value pricing too. Iâ  m recommending him to my family!"

"My name is Pamela, and at my home **There are no bad days!** That is my motto since having my beautiful, all season room, screened in Florida room and front porch added by BetterLiving Patio and Sunrooms. I have really enjoyed the additional living space that has been provided. I originally found BetterLiving Patio and Sunrooms on another website. I contacted their office and Ray, the owner, picked up the call. The rest was history. My family and I are very pleased with the results and recommend them highly. The staff is great to work with and if there is anything that I have needed, Ray and staff have quickly responded and have taken care of it for me. I love my home and enjoy it even more, there truly are no bad days here! I originally wrote this review in 2015, it is now 2019 and I have added another project and still stand by these words. I remain a very happy customer. Kudos to BetterLiving Patio and Sunrooms."

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
