"This installer is absolutely amazing. He is so thorough, efficient, and precise. My wood floor, trim, and stairs turned out so beautifully. You will need less product because he just knows exactly how to place each piece where it will go best. I couldnâ t give higher praise."

"Sta-Built Construction can do it all! We wanted to make our back yard more livable with a solid foundation for a hot tub and gazebo. We were hoping to make better use of wasted space below our dining room window where nothing but weeds grew well. Brian was the estimator who sketched out a design that not only created a lovely outdoor space, but also incorporated the existing foundation wall into a new retaining wall. The plan also included a paver patio, seat wall, fire pit, and lights. The crew was friendly, polite and hardworking, even in the midst of a record breaking heat wave. They demolished the old concrete patio, built a landing from the existing steps, and moved sprinkler lines. They paid attention to details, taking frequent measurements to ensure accuracy of the construction. Ben was the project manager, checking often on the crewâ s progress and occasionally offering a helping hand where needed. He was very approachable and quick to respond to our questions. Sta-Built is a professionally run company with creative minds and skilled workers. We were kept apprised of the scheduling date through the Sta-Built App, which we found helpful for tracking the project stages and making payments. The bid for the amount of the work done was competitive with other companies. We trusted Sta-Built to do the job right, and they came through with flying colors. We love our new outdoor space and wouldnâ t hesitate to hire them again for a future project."

"Leo and helper rebuilt outdoor stairs and did a very nice job. He was quick and professional from first contact to job completion. But, he underestimated wood needed for replacement of deck boards and he didn’t bid the cleanup/disposal of removed wood so the quote was short by $300. I would recommend Leo just be sure the quote includes everything you want done."

"When we first moved to Washington we bought a fixer upper because it was an excellent value. I had used no one in the Washington area before, since we moved here from out of state, and I found Stefan through this site. He is probably the most detail oriented contractor that I have ever worked with. The deck was completely rotted through, my siding as well and I had a collapsed chimney and this was the first time I have ever needed to replace any of these items. He walked me through my options both with careful regard to cost and attention to details that I specifically wanted to use in the deck design. We ended up using a mid-grade composite decking with hidden fasteners and metal in wood frame for the exterior railing. It will likely outlast the home itself it is so solid, and it is the perfect size in comparison with the home and with everything complying to our exacting local code. I have gotten so many compliments from everyone who has come over, including the inspector required by my insurance, and my neighbors are thrilled with the new view. In addition to the deck work, he has replaced our outside siding with concrete board as well as completely redoing the inside chimney, fixing plumbing issues as well as electrical work. Everyone he subcontracted with did exemplary work and I trust him implicitly. He completed the work within our budget. I could not be more pleased with the work, and we will be working with him on any future projects. I would absolutely recommend Stefan to anyone in the future."

"We were extremely impressed with the work that Chris did on our front porch. We had to have the old porch completely removed. We had to have the new porch built from scratch. He listened to our requirements, while still providing expert advice and suggestions that were very helpful. We are extremely happy with the professional communication, and high quality of work that Chris did to our house, and we will definitely be calling on him again for future projects."

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
