"I chose Kitchen Concepts because of the good reviews on Angie’s List and because Dave Warren was able to show through computer assisted drawings what the kitchen would look like under different scenarios given the existing dimensions of the kitchen. Dave provided the cabinets and countertops but the remodel work was performed by Ed and his crew, who Dave has associated with for years. The kitchen turned out well, with new flooring, appliances, cabinets with soft close hinges, and beautiful quartz countertops. It was a huge improvement for a kitchen that had not been remodeled in 20 years. Based on the good results on the kitchen, I contracted them to remodel the rest of the house, which meant remodeling three bathrooms, updating a living room, five bedrooms, a family room, entryway, stairway, and hall. It also involved a structural change in moving the entryway closet to an otherwise unused space under the stairwell, freeing up space to enlarge the master bathroom. There is new flooring in all areas of the house. The bathrooms and all parts of the house look beautiful. I especially like the new doors, door frames, and molding throughout the house. Working with Dave and Ed was great, and I would recommend them to anyone who needs remodeling work."

"We contracted with Design Doctors for a full remodel of both our small bathrooms, partial remodel of our kitchen and a few miscellaneous items - building a kitchen cart from Wayfair, installing an attic stairway and a new front door. I was very pleased with all of it. They did quality work, all of the workmen were very knowledgeable, as well as polite and cleaned up after their work, and they fulfilled every line item of the contract. Our Project Manager was there almost every day. This was despite some problems posed by the previous work in the house and the setup of the house itself. For example, our kitchen counters and range were not level or level with each other. So they did extra work to make the new range and countertops fit and actually be level. Both baths were a complete re-do to add step in showers and new toilets, sinks, cabinets and sinks. We put underfloor heating in the master and my husband is loving it. I added a lighted mirror in "my" bath and it is great! They also suggested and installed a pocket door to save space. Thus is a high quality door, not like the rickety ones you see that go off track easily. We did not redo the kitchen cabinets but added handles on the drawers, a backsplash on both long walls, totally redid the lighting, all new appliances and undercabinet lights. The tile work is gorgeous and they added valances on the cabinets to hide the undercabinet light hardware, matching our existing cabinets. They also moved the location of the attic stairway as my husband did not like where our original opening "landed" in the attic after the stairway was installed. During construction our water heater began to leak and they helped us get it replaced promptly. We also added a bunch of kitchen outlets and had to have some breakers replaced during the work. It is all done as requested, looks wonderful and they met the contract without charging extra for every little thing. We did pay extra when we added a front door, not on the original contract, and for a different attic stairway, as the one we had did not fit the opening and would have required cutting into the roof trusses to use. Yes, we would use them again and are quite happy with the results!! Now enjoying our house more than ever!"

"Serden Group had their great crew remodel our master bath. The whole process went very smoothly, and our bathroom is beautiful. We have never remodeled before. Went to their recommended showroom today to pick out a new counter for our spare bath. Also having their crew re-tile the floors in bath and laundry room. We didnt even think twice about calling Serden. We wouldnt have anyone else do the work."

"From the first contact to this review, Kibuk Tile has been an awesome business to deal with!!! Response times were very fast, and the work was nothing short of perfection! Vasilly and his assistant were very efficient! My grandfather started a floor covering business in Denver in the 1930’s, which became one of the top contractor’s in the business. So, I knew what I wanted to see for my new floor, and this team delivered! I would definitely hire them again!!! Thank you, Kibuk Tile, LLC., for making my new marble floor such an easy project to manage!!"

"We would highly recommend Superior Building Concepts for your next project. After many over priced quotes, underpriced quotes with a wink and a nod to do this small job without permit, or contractors that stopped by to provide a quote that we never heard from again we received a referral from Angie's list for Superior Building Construction.  Stan came by, gave us a reasonable quote then followed up with a very professional and complete contract.  We signed with Superior and were pleasantly surprised with the continued professionalism.  We received compete drawings with architectural choices.  After our selection, it was put through the permit process.  At each point we received proper communication from Stan. Once construction began, Stan was there managing the subcontractors and working alongside.  We were delighted with each subcontractor Stan brought on board.  They were all punctual, courteous and cleaned up everything after their respective jobs were complete. With Covid supply shortages you can imagine some of the issues that arose, but with each roadblock Stan communicated with us and we worked out satisfactory work arounds. This remodel was a pleasant experience and Stan and his team made the difference. You can be confident in your project if you select Superior Building Concepts."

FAQs for countertop and backsplash service projects in Camas, WA

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.

With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.

Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.

Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.

It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
