"Let me start by saying I am thrilled with my new countertops. Everyone I dealt with at this company was friendly and professional. They have very competitive prices and really stand out by offering a free sink and free installation. The two gentlemen that did my installation were absolutely wonderful. They were meticulousand ensured everything was level and properly supported prior to laying the granite. They laid drop cloths and cleaned behind themselves as they went. I will certainly be recommending this company to anyone looking to purchase granite countertops.

"The whole experience was wonderful! Calvin Lee came to our home to measure the space and provided exactly what we asked for as our remodel design. Jason and his crew worked very hard to complete our kitchen as quickly as possible while doing excellent work. Christian always answered question and addressed concerns as the process went on. Jason followed up each evening to let us know what would happen next. They arrived on time each day worked full days. We got all new cabinets, flooring, countertops, lighting and paint. We couldn’t be happier with our new beautiful kitchen!"

"We’re thrilled with our new screened-in porch from Glen and his team at Custom Works, Inc.! They came highly recommended, and now we know why. Glen helped us navigate strict HOA rules and worked with our budget to build the largest, most functional space possible—without sacrificing quality or aesthetics. His pricing was fair, the craftsmanship outstanding, and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend Glen if you’re looking for quality work and a contractor who truly listens!"

"Our new sunroom is impressive, beautiful craftsmanship, amazing attention to detail, replacing an old sunroom. All the windows were wiped clean before they left as well as the ceiling. The windows slide effortlessly. We had a gutter issue and they came up with a creative idea to manage the water. Our neighbors are stopping to see it. We chose the windows floor to ceiling and you can see the ornamental grass through it, a beautiful look. The installers were friendly and easy to talk with. We love it! Highly recommended! A++"

"Walter's Home Improvement is the best choice I have ever made in my life when choosing a contractor to remodel our bathroom. We had around 8 estimates and Walter was by far the most professional, kind, and easily negotiated a price for the bathroom. They were at our home the next time ready to start and it did not take them long to finish. When my wife and I looked at the finished bathroom, it felt as if we were in a store looking a model bathrooms. The ENTIRE house was literally cleaner when they left. This company is the definition of professionalism, integrity, and honesty. I would recommend Walter's Home Improvement to anyone needing any type of remodeling done, which includes much more than a bathroom. Thanks Walter!!!"

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
