"These guys, John and John, are very dedicated to good customer service, and they worked around my schedule to get my kitchen cabinets repainted. There was a bit of a delay in getting the cabinet doors and drawers back on because they were a bit backed up in their spraying facility (which indicates how busy they are!), but they have gone the extra mile to accommodate me. John even came back to take one little cabinet door in for redoing when it showed a couple of paint bubbles - he wants his work to be excellent and I respect that. They were meticulous in their site preparation of my kitchen, taking about 6 hours to mask and cover everything in my kitchen that wasn't a cabinet, and it only took about half an hour to spray the cabinet bases after that. I appreciate the care they took with my hardwood floors, and they even cleaned under the stove and fridge when they moved them out."

"This was the most straight foreword, honest, experience I had with a contractor. Pedro and his team quoted accurately and installed a beautiful granite kitchen countertop. He worked with my short timeline."

"Mike and his crew did a great job on our kitchen countertops. They turned out better than we had imagined. We would definitely use Gaskins Granite again and would highly recommend them to anyone needed a solid surface countertop."

"Gerald was very responsive, did the job quickly and did a nice job. He was not the lowest bidder but was worth the difference because of his care and timely responsiveness. They did a nice job fabricating countertops and installation looks good. The only knock is that their cleanup of the work area could have been a bit better, other than that they were great and I do recommend them."

"I originally hired him to do a much more expensive procedure, but he recommended this fix instead for much less money and it looks great. I greatly appreciate him looking out for us."

"Norman responded quickly to my inquiry and fit me into his schedule. My kitchen disposal quit working and was making a mess under my sink. Even though this was a small job for him, it may a big difference to me. I have a basement finish coming up and he will be the first contractor that I contact for a bid."

"We had a great experience with Emilio and 614 Drywall. We wanted the living room popcorn ceiling removed, textured and painted. We also wanted the faux wood beams painted to match. He communicated with us well and had Miguel out to complete the project very quickly. We love the result and it makes our living room look modern and crisp. We will certainly hire them again for projects as they are a great company!"

"Eagle Design replaced my countertops this week with granite tile. They did excellent work, were reliable and fast, and were always polite and courteous. Their price was fantastic yet I feel the quality of their work could compete with any of the larger companies who would charge thousands more for the same job. I would recommend Leo and Nick to any friend because they proved to be skilled and knowlegable, trustworthy, and have a wonderful work ethic. Price was the clencher, but I'm happy to say I was very pleased with all aspects of their job performance."

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
