"I got a new sink, Clint and Hugo came out to cut the larger hole in my granite Island countertop. They did a great job on the cut nice and clean, even squared up and realigned the crooked Island countertop from the original installers. They put up a barrier to keep the dust out from the rest of the house and even cleaned up and sealed all my granite countertops after. If you need any installs these guys are a good choice."

"Caleb Rogers and John Waldridge installed our windows and did a fantastic job yesterday. Both were very friendly and informative as to how to open and clean our windows. Each made sure that we knew to contact WestShore Homes if we experience any issues whatsoever with the windows. They were very courteous and made sure all areas inside and out were cleaned up before leaving. We are definitely satisfied customers."

"I had a very pleasant experience with this company. Mr. Hogeland told me when he would start my project and when It would be finished. It was done right on time and there wasn't a single piece of debris to be found from the job. It's rare that you find somone who is reasonably priced, tells you what to expect and then actually follows through on it in the time frame given. I will definitely use him in the future and I tell all of my friends and family about him."

"We attempted to get estimates from several companies and Rob was one of the two that came out when scheduled, made suggestions and gave us options for our project. His ideas turned out to the be perfect solution for our needs. Although other companies told us our project was too small, he worked us into his schedule and upon completion of the work he inspected both the walkway and the patio. He found an issue that we would have been unaware of and had it rectified to his high standards. We were thrilled to have a perfectionist on the job! The crew was also professional and courteous."

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
