"This was the most straight foreword, honest, experience I had with a contractor. Pedro and his team quoted accurately and installed a beautiful granite kitchen countertop. He worked with my short timeline."

"Dylan is a gem! He responded promptly to my request for a quote, followed through with consistent communication, and was a pleasure to work with. He repaired a granite kitchen countertop and did so in the cleanest way possible by keeping his vacuum host taped to the location where he was grinding down the edges of our counter. He also showed up on time, went and purchased an additional item to shine the new edge of our countertop, and cleaned up after himself. I will definitely use him again!"

"This is our second time working w/Cedric (Sonny) and we are just as happy w/our results as the first time we worked w/ him a few years ago. I was delighted when he agreed to be our landscape architect again. Cedric is very easy to work with. He is honest, communicative, and always inspecting both the work in progress and the finished work, to ensure he is satisfied w/it. Cedric also always followed up w/us to make sure we were happy with how the project was progressing as well as the end results. Additionally, he is a good listener and his ideas are very innovative. Cedric's crews are kind, timely, hard-working, trustworthy, detail oriented and do a great job cleaning up. For our current project, we hired Cedric and crews to remove a brick patio and brick walkway from the front of our house. Cedric's crews did the demolition, poured a new sand-finished front walkway, built a stucco and brick wall where the brick patio used to be, planted a tree and installed walkway lighting. The results are fantastic and we've gotten several compliments from our neighbors on how nice our front yard looks. We spent approximately $36K. for this job. Next Spring Cedric and crews will return to do more landscaping in the front yard and along the front walkway as well as some landscaping in our side / backyard. I wouldn't trust our landscape design projects to anyone else but Cedric....he's that good!"

"First things first. This company came in under time and under budget. They left the house clean every day and were never intrusive and loud. My overall experience with DBF Kitchens was superb. From the initial consultation the finishing of the punch list the communication was excellent, the quality of work was outstanding and the materials used were second to none. First things first. This company came in under time and under budget. They left the house clean every day and were never intrusive and loud. They were very accommodating of my nosiness, nit-picking and suggestions! I'm pretty sure I'm the type of customer these guys dread, but they never let on that I was being a pain and they never once expressed the desire for me to just go away and keep my nose out of their business. For that I commend them and can heartily recommend them to anyone who is thinking of using their services. You'll not find a better company for doing this type of work than DBF Kitchens You can't do better than that. Glenn Corliss's word is his bond. He does what he says he's going to do when he says he's going to do it. You can't do better than that."

"Jimmy does excellent work - we hired him for a master bath remodel last summer and then brought him back this year for a 2nd bath remodel. His attention to detail is top-notch. We replaced a tub-shower curtain setup with a fully tiled walk-in shower. Looks great!"

"Cameron and Jordan are by far the best contractors we have ever worked with. We have lived in many older homes and have done various projects from general updating of wood floors, etc. to a complete kitchen remodel. We have never had such a smooth project as our basement. They listened to our ideas and worked with us to come up with a great plan. Cameron and Jordan go above and beyond. If they think something extra needs to be done to make it right they will do it, without straying from the budget. We stuck to the budget, except for things we wanted to change. They are very clear and upfront about how much it will cost, including any add-ons. They were so kind and good with our young son, who was very interested in what they were doing.
We would not hesitate to ask them to do more for us. We cannot recommend them highly enough."
Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
