"What a great experience at Solid Surface Solutions after going through all the cheapo Seattle area granite countertop shops and the pricey Home Depot type stores. They are very friendly and responsive through all parts of the buying and install experience. We enjoyed everyone at the shop and also the measurement and install people as well.Their initial estimate came in slightly high, but they were very willing to work with us to get near the price of some of the cheaper Seattle shops we visited. We chose to pay a hair more for these guys because they were the most informative and professional place we visited. Their knowledge and pride showed.
Alan, (I believe the owner), was extremely precise and helpful during the measurement process. He gave us several options to make our install work for us, as we did have some cabinet and wall issues that made it not an easy and straightforward situation. Alan educated me to all options and was very responsive to every phone call I had with further questions. I was pleased and thankful to have a patient and professional guy at my beck and call!!
The install went great, and we are very pleased with the look, edges, and seamwork of the granite countertops installed by SSS. We got it done in a day and are thrilled with the look, feel, and ease of use of our new countertops. We went to many many places and got a wide range of estimates before choosing these guys, and are happy we did. My wife said she liked the "feel" of the office and people helping us at Solid Surface Solutions more than any other place we visited. They will work with you on price and do great work. Granite is the way to go!!"

"Jared Lord, owner of Paul Haugen Construction, and his crew are outstanding. They are dependable, honest and do excellent work. Jared's labor and countertop cost for our project was $21, 473,65 (appx. $9K under budget). Our new cabinets, sink, stove top, range hood, tile and garbage disposal were separate costs that we paid for. Regardless, the total cost was below $50K for our beautiful and functional new kitchen."

"As a member of my condo board we had such a difficult time finding a trustworthy and professional roofing company. We sat with multiple companies only to be left feeling more confused and frustrated by each of them, until we had the pleasure of meeting Elijah team at Near Me Roofing Company. They were so professional and prepared for all our questions and concerns, but what really impressed us was that they held to their word, on time tables, budgeting and most important the quality of work. I would Highly recommend this company."

"Eric is his own project manager, and also does a sizable amount of the remodeling. He subbed out the plumbing, tile work, and countertop which meant he coordinated all the timelines. Each day, he would call us with his estimated time of arrival; he was very timely. And, he did that for his sub-contractors as well. Or, he had them call us directly. Everyone who worked with Eric, including Eric was very timely, very professional, very friendly, very neat. All were craftsmen.
My husband is most curious about any work, especially anything around home construction. He has been a part of small projects around our home with his brother, who was a contractor. He would say to me, "Eric is good!" Eric made sure everything was done correctly in the shower area; he did not want us to have any water issues, which we appreciated. He worked at correcting walls that weren't quite vertical and square. He knew how important that was for the tile work that followed. His plumber zeroed in on what needed to be done. Some "danger" areas were exposed which he showed to my husband. We are fortunate he corrected those issues before we had water damage in our walls. Now that we have used the shower, we can say the plumbing is AOK. The tile installer was precise; it was a big job as the tiles were 4"x8". When the glass doors were installed, the beauty of the vertical lines in the tile revealed how precise he was. The cabinet was installed with finesse. The countertop and sink were installed by a sub. We opted for a taller backsplash on the counter area because of an electrical wiring issue or the cost to us would have been quite a bit more. We are happy with that decision. The original light fixture was not centered on the sink so Eric corrected that so our new one is centered on the sink.
Any drywall that happened was mudded well and textured as close as one could get to a 1970s finish with years of layered paint. The floor moulding was re-installed. Eric was careful to remove it prior to his work which helped us expense wise. The vinyl floor which we decided to use instead of purchasing new vinyl was in great condition after the remodel.
Each day, Eric or his workers would tidy up. Really tidy up. Broom, vacuum, whatever it took. At the end, the tile grout that left a slight residue on the tile was removed. The chrome of our fixtures was spiffed up.
My husband asked me if there is anything I would change. "No, there is nothing I would change."
Thank you, Eric and your crew!

"We were thrilled with NW Topnotch Painting & More's work on our recent house painting project. The quality of the finished product is outstanding – the paint job is flawless and looks even better than we imagined. They used top-notch materials and meticulous attention to detail throughout the entire process. But the exceptional service went beyond just the final product. NW Topnotch Painting & More offered excellent value, their pricing was fair and transparent. They were incredibly professional throughout the project, always courteous and respectful of our home. Communication was fantastic – they were responsive to any questions we had and kept us informed every step of the way. Additionally, they were punctual and always arrived on time, which made the entire process stress-free. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend NW Topnotch Painting & More to anyone looking for a top-notch house painting experience."

"I was referred to them by a friend I have my usual company I would normally call, but I loved this company’s job so much I am sticking with them. My bathroom vinyl looks spectacular. I got sheet vinyl put in a 100 sq foot bathroom! Everything was meticulously done. I would recommend J&F Gencon 100%"

"I had Sunrise perform major landscaping work in June and July of 2017. Price quoted was good. The entire project was completed as requested. The workers did the job in a very professional manner and worked hard to make sure I was satisfied with the results. I highly recommend Sunrise."

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
