"They were very reliable. Neat and clean. Answered all questions. Even let us see the quartz slab at the distributor and again before they actually fabricated the countertop"

"OZ Contracting is absolutely a excellent contractor to choose for a new kitchen renovation. My wife and I had our entire kitchen totally redone, including the removal of a baring wall, and installation of a new window. We could not be more happy with the quality, professionalism, courteousness, attention to detail and overall high quality workmanship Uzi's team provided. The crew showed up promptly every day for 4 1/2 weeks, and were even able to finish the job 1 week early. The team cleaned up nightly, and Mike the project manager oversaw the progress daily to ensure everything was perfect as promised. The new cabinets along with new porcelain floors in my kitchen, dining room, and den, an "L" shaped island with quartz countertop, and all plumbing, electrical, tile work, and appliances were installed and finished expertly to our extreme pleasure. We would highly recommend OZ Contracting for any project. Uzi, Mike, Lori and the crew are simply terrific and a pleasure to deal with during planning through implementation and provided the guidance necessary to ensure a successful project even better than as we had envisioned. Our appreciation and thanks to them all, and we plan to work with them again in the future for our other home improvement needs. If your are looking for a reliable contractor and high quality results for your project, then the experienced team at OZ Contracting should be your only choice!! Ronnie & Cliff N."

"Excellent experience from start to finish. I had stone countertops installed as well as plank flooring and a new dishwasher. I had already picked out what I wanted so that part was easy. Andy made the process so easy. The other reviews are not wrong - these guys are fast, accurate, professional and clean. I am so pleased with the results! I highly recommend them."

"Ryan Boris responded promptly to the ANGI notification to contact me. He also showed up promptly for his scheduled appointment. Tri-Point's price for restoring my granite counter tops was reasonable, and my counters look like new. Would recommend."

"The landscaping came out beautiful. When you hire Starkie Bros. you get the platinum package every time. We used them 21 years ago to do the pavers and landscape around the pool in the yard. We were extremely happy then as we are now. He even had several of the same workers and they remembered working on our yard. He also did our front walkway in pavers a couple of years ago. I would definitely recommend John Starkie!"

"Needed an InSinkErator removed and new drains put in to my kitchen sink. His communication was good prior to the appointment... He was on time, efficient and cleaned up afterwards. Was very knowledgeable about a few other things that I am looking to have done as well."

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
