"This is the second project Tom Watson and Finishing Touch Landscape has done at our home in Ballwin. They replaced an approximately 70ft long, 3.5ft high retaining wall along our driveway. It was a very messy project - the weather was horrible. However, they completed the work within a week and the finished project looks amazing - it is a sturdy, professional looking wall that has greatly enhanced the curb appeal of our home. The project also solved some significant drainage issues we were having with water leaking from the old wall across our driveway. We are very pleased with the work. Tom is a pro. "As expected, there was a long delay between signing a contract and work beginning. This was not the fault of the contractor --- material availability since COVID was the obvious factor here. G.A. Chott was about 'middle of the road' in terms of quotes we received for our kitchen. We had quotes that were 25% less and quotes that were tens of thousands more. Ultimately we felt that the detail in the proposal materials and the professionalism of Darryll (owner) made G.A. Chott the best fit for us. With the work now complete, I do feel we made the correct decision in having them perform the work. In the end, the project wound up being about 14% over the initial estimate. It is important to note that some of this was due to changes made by us, the customer. A good portion, however, was bringing electrical up to code. In our opinion this would have been easily discoverable during the estimate by viewing the breaker box, so I was a little disappointed by this. From demo day to completed kitchen was right at 2 months. That said, after 5 weeks we had a mostly functional kitchen (appliances and cabinets in place, cardboard countertops). Work then paused until countertops were ready; this delay is not G.A. Chott's doing, but certainly something to plan for regardless of who you go with. Material quality is midgrade per my research --- better than box store and a bit below high end. This was in line with the price point as compared to other estimates. Overall we've been happy with G.A. Chott, their staff and quality. We would hire them for additional large projects, but would take what we've learned into that scenario, do a bit more research into code compliance (as compared to when our house was built) and ensure everything possible is accounted for in the initial quote."

When he came to inspect the project he immediately got down to taking measurements from all sorts of angles and then went ahead to explain to me what all the steps of the work from start to finish complete with timelines and within 24 hrs too I had my quote, which was very affordable especially for the amount of work that was involved. Even at the planning stages I saw that he shared my vision of how I imagined my end product. They were working on another project, but managed to schedule my project within a week of my inquiries. They were very thoroughly meticulous in their work despite working in very hot summer weather and were done in no time. They left my driveway very tidy, even planted grass and lay some hay on top and did everything to leave my house looking seriously upgraded with their fabulous work that exceeded my expectations. They were able to accommodate us by scheduling the messy demo of the plaster walls while we were out of town. Gutting bathrooms in a 110 year old house can be challenging but they were able to overcome any surprises behind the old walls and floors. We knew the layout we wanted and what we wanted to achieve to maximize space. Jason and Tony listened and executed our plan beautifully. Tony, the lead on our job was very responsive and attentive to detail. If there was something that we were not happy with they made the necessary adjustments immediately.
