"We engaged Bob Phalan of Phalan Construction to do a number of small to medium size projects in our home, including: building and installing stairs from the kitchen to garage, building/ finishing/ installing a stair handrail, building/ finishing/ installing doors for an existing kitchen cabinet, repairing 2 sinking decks, getting rid of squeaks in the floor, leveling a number of doors. Bob does excellent work, he really knows his stuff and is a master craftsman in all kinds of home projects, especially carpentry. "I hired Bob to install a new induction range, replacing a cooktop and cutting some of the stone countertop. He also replaced the existing hood vent with an over-the-range microwave. He was very knowledgeable and was able to do all of the work involved by himself. (Two other people that I spoke with could only do one part of the work and had no idea who could help me with the other parts.) Bob knew exactly what needed to be done and gave me a quote that was very reasonable. He worked with us to figure out how to make it look like everything had originally been installed that way. He showed up on the days he promised and let us know when he was running late (he was only 15 minutes late). He was really easy to work with, extremely knowledgeable, and my wife absolutely loved the final result!"

"This was our 3rd project we contacted SILMAC Construction and Joe over the years. We need a complete refresh of condo unit in Charlestown in order to list and we working on very tight timeline. The refresh included refinishing wood floors, overall interior painting of the unit, electrical updating and final deep cleaning for showing of the unit. Joe jumped on the job on a Saturday less than 24 hours after our rental tenants moved out and completed the entire refresh in less than 10 days within the price he quote. We will continue to work Joe and Silmac in the future."

"I can't recommend the Curtice Group enough! We did a kitchen renovation, including design and construction, with them in 2024 and the process was quick, the team was extremely communicative, and the end product is gorgeous! In October 2023, we started the design process with them to see what would be possible with our kitchen area that was out-of-date and not functional for our family.Eric Curtice came by a few times to do thorough measurements of our space in order to render some designs for us to look through. Scott, the owner, gave us a breakdown of costs; he was very practical about what he thought was important and what was not, balancing need with price. It was so refreshing to get such a granular view of exact costs before diving into a renovation project. After design, we decided to go forth with construction, which kicked off in early January 2024. Scott's team set us up a temporary kitchen (including a dishwasher) which made living under construction so easy. The project manager, Shawn, was there every single weekday, and Scott came at the start of most weeks to check on progress. The Curtice Group team were incredibly communicative the entire time, giving us updates via email about timeline and costs. We were done with our project by mid-March (just 2.5 months!) and we're thrilled with the end result. Even better, we came in a little under budget. You should absolutely hire this group. We'll definitely be calling them for future projects!"
