It could have been a big problem in older brownstone (or "can of worms," as electrician said) but he was able to rewire the outlet so that it's essentially new. He told us that running a new line (thus bypassing outlet) wouldn't have solved the problem, since the older wiring would still be carrying energy even if unused. He knew what he was doing. My landlady paid, so I don't know how much it cost, but she was happy. Wanted them to get a good review."
