"When I originally spoke with James, one of his technicians was on the way out to our house. We had two outlets that had caught on fire from a portable heater, a 220-volt outlet that needed to be switched to a 120 (to support the heater), and we needed our GFIC outlet tested. James came out himself and took care of everything within an hour and a half. He even tested our smoke detectors to make sure they were working properly and gave advice on ways we could save money replacing electrical outlets. He charged us less than the original estimate. Did a great job. Will definitely hire them again."

"I needed work done very quickly. After my parents passed away I've been trying to get this house renovated. I spoke with several companies through another referral service. Ridiculous pricing, long waits and they made me feel as if they were doing me a favor. Starting with scheduling to the electrician (Mark) the entire experience was awesome. They literally came to my house the very next day installed two new light fixtures. The following week he came and installed 6 new outside fixtures and almost 30 switches and outlets. The price I was charged for all the work was incredible. They made me feel that my request was priority, worked around my crazy schedule and were extremely neat and courteous. This company is a keeper and I intend on having more work scheduled with them."

"I hired Hiller to wire my new garage. Frank was the main installer and I found him to be experienced, professional and easy to work with. He had a variety of helpers who all did great work too; I have just forgotten their names. You can expect excellent service if you hire Hiller for your electrical needs"

"We hired Parker Electric to install several new LED canned lights into our existing kitchen as well as retrofit some old cans and have a island fixture and remove old fixtures. Brian, the owner, contacted me within an hour of my HomeAdvisor submittal to review my needs and provided a very competitive written quote soon after. Once hired, we scheduled the work a few days later. David, his master recessed can electrician, arrived for the apportionment and reviewed the job, provided expert advice on the layout, and then proceeded to complete the job quickly and on budget. This included correcting some previous non code junction box issue he found without charging me extra to correct. Both David and Brian were professional, courteous and sought my input when any question came up. I would say they wanted to make sure I was extremely happy with the job before considering it completed. I would not hesitate to call Parker Electric for any further electrical work and would highly recommend you give them a chance to bid your project!! The difference with Parker is they will help you with suggestions to your project instead of just doing the work. It was a real pleasure doing business with them."

Electricians do a fair amount of larger remodeling and new construction projects but also common residential projects including:

A truly skilled, well-equipped professional with a truck full of parts that charges $100 an hour can be a much wiser choice than an inexperienced hack, working with inadequate tools and no parts, but charging much less. Often, more experienced professionals get the job done quickly with warrantied work.
2. Compare Travel ChargesRates reflect travel times. Travel charges can have a big impact on your costs and are in some ways easier to compare than hourly rates. Many electricians spend a third or more of their time navigating traffic on their way to a jobsite. Every contractor must find a way to pay for the expense of driving each day.
3. Bundle Repair Jobs TogetherWhen you feel it’s time to call a pro, review your list and then conduct a mini-inspection of your home. Look for faulty switches and dysfunctional or crowded outlets. When the electrician comes, you’ll save money and time by getting everything taken care of at once.
