"We live in Utah and have owned property in Independence for years. With the overgrowth rate, we hired a person to keep it cleared. He did marvelous until ill with serious complications. Tried Angi several times to find someone to take over. After no offers, we gave up over a year ago. Recently, Independence City sent us a written overgrowth notice. Angi was tired again. Within an hour was contacted by Solid Ground Land & Excavation Services, LLC. Their representative was attentive, interested and helpful. He visited the land that day and sent a bid that evening. The bid was reasonable and we contracted this company the next day. Less than a week later, the job is done and photos provided to show "Before" and "After" conditions of the land. Excellently done! Further, this company has agreed to assist us to find a new person to do the ongoing maintenance. Could not be more pleased with the outcome. Thanks to Hap and to Angi!!"

"Impressed by how very professional the entire team is. Placed an add for guttering to come and repair guttering that was incorrectly put on by original builder. Was immediately contacted, by Branch Out Gutters and a bid was given and scheduled an appointment within a week. The installation team was very professional and when they were finished the area was clean. I truly appreciate this company and will highly recommend them to anyone."

"We thought we had a sinkhole but Corbin determined it was a huge, old septic tank! In one day it was fixed. He communicated well and tried hard to repair grass spots that equipment dug into as well as smoothing out the fill dirt. We wouldn’t hesitate to hire again."

Small jobs welcome

"I had Louie & Sons Excavating remove my pool, deck, and fence. Had them grade and slope the yard. They provided a detailed proposal with all items listed. Their work was excellent, I could not be happier. They are highly skilled equipment operators and are very easy to work with. If you need excavating work I highly recommend Louie & Sons Excavating. Excellent work at a fair price."

FAQs for excavation projects in Blue Springs, MO

Depth depends on the type of installation and the regulations in your area. Water supply lines typically require 24 inches, while drainage pipes are often installed 36 inches below grade. For most general projects, a depth of 12 to 24 inches and a width of about eight inches is sufficient. Sticking to these specs keeps your utilities safe, code-compliant, and easier to maintain later.

When you need to run utilities underground, you’ve got two main options: boring or trenching. Boring employs directional drilling to install utilities without exposing a continuous channel, while trenching requires excavating an open channel to place utilities securely. Directional drilling preserves landscape integrity, whereas trenching provides direct access for installation, albeit with greater surface disruption. This clear comparison helps you select the method best suited to your project.

Plan on 12 hours to dig 100 linear feet when the soil is cooperative and you can work continuously. This timeframe applies when work is performed consistently and methodically. Factors such as rocky soil, tree roots, obstructions, and frozen ground increase the overall duration, demanding extra planning and effort. Comprehensive operational planning ensures that every challenge is managed efficiently and the project is completed on schedule.

If you want your yard to look untouched, laying fresh sod over the trench is the quickest fix. New sod needs 30 to 45 days to root and blend with the rest of your lawn. A local sod pro can provide you with a firm timeline and tips to ensure the grass takes hold and maintains your curb appeal.
