"We have dealt with William Sisson before and have found him to be always willing to help us out, plan for us, and do the work. His crew was here promtly before 7:30 am and performed the work easily and just from watching them work, know they are good at what they do. We wouldn't use anyone else. We're all cleaned up and ready to enjoy the rest of the day."

"Dumpster Daddy did a great job removing trees on our property, some of which were quite large. Dumpster Daddy showed up on time, began working right away and worked politely, efficiently and neatly. They cleaned up after completing the job and left our property in excellent condition. Best of all, their prices were fair and reasonable for the amount of work they did."

Small jobs welcome

"I called Jake and left a message on his phone about what I was looking to have done. He got back to me within 24 hours and made arrangements to look at my project. He gave me a price based on certain conditions that had to be made on his end and told me upfront that the price could change if those conditions couldn’t be met. I agreed to that. When his conditions couldn’t be met he got back to me right away to let me know the situation. I asked for additional things to be done once he got started. I knew the cost would go ip but he lett me know that right away. He was upfront and respectful and easy to work with as was his help. I definitely recommend Jake Plasse."

"From the first estimate to the final cleanup, the whole experience was great! They were professional and showed up when they said they would. They completely transformed our yard with new landscaping, mulch beds, and trimming, and everything looks clean and polished. Fair pricing for the amount of work. We’ve already had neighbors asking who did our landscaping. Highly recommend!"

Customers say: Quality work

"I had to follow up two to three times to get the date set to start the job. The job was done fairly quickly and satisfied with outlook. However, they left trim and rods in the yard from drainage bed. My expectation is for a hired company to clean up afterward."

Customers say: True professional

"Lawrence was an excellent contractor, he contacted and coordinated with the gas company and with Galloway co-op. He checked in regularly with me and even tried to get a temporary tank when it was discovered that my propane levels would not last until the delivery date. He wasted no time and came early to start excavation a day before delivery and that a great job burying and leveling the Earth after the tank was installed. Very professional, would recommend."

FAQs for excavation projects in Clifton Park, NY

Depth depends on the type of installation and the regulations in your area. Water supply lines typically require 24 inches, while drainage pipes are often installed 36 inches below grade. For most general projects, a depth of 12 to 24 inches and a width of about eight inches is sufficient. Sticking to these specs keeps your utilities safe, code-compliant, and easier to maintain later.

When you need to run utilities underground, you’ve got two main options: boring or trenching. Boring employs directional drilling to install utilities without exposing a continuous channel, while trenching requires excavating an open channel to place utilities securely. Directional drilling preserves landscape integrity, whereas trenching provides direct access for installation, albeit with greater surface disruption. This clear comparison helps you select the method best suited to your project.

Plan on 12 hours to dig 100 linear feet when the soil is cooperative and you can work continuously. This timeframe applies when work is performed consistently and methodically. Factors such as rocky soil, tree roots, obstructions, and frozen ground increase the overall duration, demanding extra planning and effort. Comprehensive operational planning ensures that every challenge is managed efficiently and the project is completed on schedule.

If you want your yard to look untouched, laying fresh sod over the trench is the quickest fix. New sod needs 30 to 45 days to root and blend with the rest of your lawn. A local sod pro can provide you with a firm timeline and tips to ensure the grass takes hold and maintains your curb appeal.
