"Incredible performance. Came in on time under budget. Great craftsmanship . I would hire him again 100 percent ! Demolished existing outhouse , dug new pit 5 feet deep , installed new concrete rebar enforced retaining wall , constructed brand new outhouse built to withstand 10 foot snow load in winter. The whole family loves it"

"Rich was great tp work with. He cut and removed a 5x5 part of my sidewalk so I coukd repair a sprinkler line underneath. Not only did he do a great job, clean cut lines and complete removal, he didn't leave any debree behind, even cleaned up someone elses mistake for no extra charge. He communicated very well, was friendly and timely. Then to top it all off, he was 40 to 110% less expensive than two other bids I recieved. Wish more contractors provided good service for a fair price."

Small jobs welcome

"Jake was very professional and responsive to reply to my need for structural footing excavation. He scheduled the dig in a very timely manner, shows up when he said he would and was a very competent operator of his excavator. I would definitely recommend him to others and would not hesitate hiring him again. Thank you, Jake!"

"I had about 5 acres to get cleared out from over growth, I called Freedom Forest Management and a gentleman named Levi was out at my property two day later to give me a quote, the quote they gave me was a little pricey compared to others but they were able to get to it in a couple of days compared to others that were 3-4 weeks out. They did a bang up job cleaned the area up really good even trimmed up a tree I had since he said needed it to help with growth. I definitely got the quality of work I paid for and then some."

FAQs for excavation projects in Emigrant Gap, CA

Depth depends on the type of installation and the regulations in your area. Water supply lines typically require 24 inches, while drainage pipes are often installed 36 inches below grade. For most general projects, a depth of 12 to 24 inches and a width of about eight inches is sufficient. Sticking to these specs keeps your utilities safe, code-compliant, and easier to maintain later.

When you need to run utilities underground, you’ve got two main options: boring or trenching. Boring employs directional drilling to install utilities without exposing a continuous channel, while trenching requires excavating an open channel to place utilities securely. Directional drilling preserves landscape integrity, whereas trenching provides direct access for installation, albeit with greater surface disruption. This clear comparison helps you select the method best suited to your project.

Plan on 12 hours to dig 100 linear feet when the soil is cooperative and you can work continuously. This timeframe applies when work is performed consistently and methodically. Factors such as rocky soil, tree roots, obstructions, and frozen ground increase the overall duration, demanding extra planning and effort. Comprehensive operational planning ensures that every challenge is managed efficiently and the project is completed on schedule.

If you want your yard to look untouched, laying fresh sod over the trench is the quickest fix. New sod needs 30 to 45 days to root and blend with the rest of your lawn. A local sod pro can provide you with a firm timeline and tips to ensure the grass takes hold and maintains your curb appeal.
