"Josh replaced our wooden porch railing with wrought iron. He did exactly as we wanted based on pictures we sent him, at a reasonable price, and exactly in the timeframe he said he could do it. He is very meticulous and professional and we would recommend him to anyone and use him again if we have a need. Thank you Josh!"

"Gerado is enthusiastic about his work. He and his crew are dedicated and hard workers. He assured me on the day he came to give me a quote that he would remain on the site until I was completely satisfied with all of the projects he was asked to do. There was grading, topsoil and fill dirt placement, drainage swale construction, mulching, and more. They truly excel at soil placement and fine grading. They finished with hand raking the areas of any small debris so that the final product was blemish free and beautiful. They cleaned up behind each project leaving behind only one shovel and a satisfied customer. Yes, I will hire him for the next phase of our landscaping project."

"The guys did an amazing job digging 83 holes for us so we could put a fence in. They did it quickly with amazing work ethic and we couldn’t be happier. It also was a great cost I think so 10/10 recommend."

Customers say: Quick response

"Brian is excellent to work with and honest on his guidance and proposal. Had a 20 year hidden leak between garage butting up to house. It caused moisture to get behind brick and around bay window. Brian had to remove brick and replace several rotting wall studs and replace brick. He also had to rebuild sections of the bay window. Great work!"

FAQs for excavation projects in Franklinton, NC

Depth depends on the type of installation and the regulations in your area. Water supply lines typically require 24 inches, while drainage pipes are often installed 36 inches below grade. For most general projects, a depth of 12 to 24 inches and a width of about eight inches is sufficient. Sticking to these specs keeps your utilities safe, code-compliant, and easier to maintain later.

When you need to run utilities underground, you’ve got two main options: boring or trenching. Boring employs directional drilling to install utilities without exposing a continuous channel, while trenching requires excavating an open channel to place utilities securely. Directional drilling preserves landscape integrity, whereas trenching provides direct access for installation, albeit with greater surface disruption. This clear comparison helps you select the method best suited to your project.

Plan on 12 hours to dig 100 linear feet when the soil is cooperative and you can work continuously. This timeframe applies when work is performed consistently and methodically. Factors such as rocky soil, tree roots, obstructions, and frozen ground increase the overall duration, demanding extra planning and effort. Comprehensive operational planning ensures that every challenge is managed efficiently and the project is completed on schedule.

If you want your yard to look untouched, laying fresh sod over the trench is the quickest fix. New sod needs 30 to 45 days to root and blend with the rest of your lawn. A local sod pro can provide you with a firm timeline and tips to ensure the grass takes hold and maintains your curb appeal.
