"Very reasonable price. I had an 80' long retaining wall built to level off my property and protect my foundation. He and another worker came out on the 2 hottest days we've had and knocked it out. He used good quality materials and has his own equipment to handle this size job. He and his worker were both very polite and respectful to me and my property. They cleaned up at night and tried to minimize the impact of their work to the rest of my property. This is someone to remember for other projects. Thanks Eric!!"

"Water was leaking through the ceiling of our family room. We called Nick at Pacific Crest Plumbing. It wasn’t a crisis, so we did some troubleshooting over the weekend. He came out first thing Monday morning and began investigating. He was on time for his appointment. In fact, he sent us a text message earlier in the morning to let us know he would be on time. He found the source of the leak and fixed it that day. Since the leak was in between the first and second floors, some of the ceiling drywall had to be removed in order to get to and repair the leak. Nick was careful to cover the furniture and carpet before he began and made sure everything was cleaned up to our satisfaction after the repair. He also checked to make sure there was no mold and dry rot in the affected area. Nick has been our plumber for 25 years. He is a great guy and his work is always excellent. We wouldn’t use anyone else."

"These guys are TOP notch. This project was for a patio cover with gabled roof. Nohr seem to know exactly what we wanted. He was flexible with some changes we asked for and overall was reasonable in price compared to others in the market. I did cost a little more than we anticipated but worth every penny. Once the crew got on site they were on time (early) and worked hard throughout the day. The entire project was completed in 3 days. Other company's told us it would take up to a week. High quality craftmanship while staying on schedule is hard to come by these days. Paradise more then met our expectations. Thanks for the great experience."

"I really enjoyed working with Dallas and Nevin. - The project was to excavate and lift one corner of our house foundation which had begun to sink in order to bring back to square. - They took the time to explain the process and project scope to me. - Very respectful throughout. - They set a schedule and kept to it, unusual in my experience and highly appreciated. - Excellent communication throughout. - Had some changes I requested along the way on other small projects around the lot and they embraced helping me where another contractor failed us. - Cleaned the space and debris, provided a load of pea gravel on one side of the house to ensure it was left in better shape than found. - Fair pricing. Highly recommended."

FAQs for excavation projects in Gaston, OR

Depth depends on the type of installation and the regulations in your area. Water supply lines typically require 24 inches, while drainage pipes are often installed 36 inches below grade. For most general projects, a depth of 12 to 24 inches and a width of about eight inches is sufficient. Sticking to these specs keeps your utilities safe, code-compliant, and easier to maintain later.

When you need to run utilities underground, you’ve got two main options: boring or trenching. Boring employs directional drilling to install utilities without exposing a continuous channel, while trenching requires excavating an open channel to place utilities securely. Directional drilling preserves landscape integrity, whereas trenching provides direct access for installation, albeit with greater surface disruption. This clear comparison helps you select the method best suited to your project.

Plan on 12 hours to dig 100 linear feet when the soil is cooperative and you can work continuously. This timeframe applies when work is performed consistently and methodically. Factors such as rocky soil, tree roots, obstructions, and frozen ground increase the overall duration, demanding extra planning and effort. Comprehensive operational planning ensures that every challenge is managed efficiently and the project is completed on schedule.

If you want your yard to look untouched, laying fresh sod over the trench is the quickest fix. New sod needs 30 to 45 days to root and blend with the rest of your lawn. A local sod pro can provide you with a firm timeline and tips to ensure the grass takes hold and maintains your curb appeal.
