"ENTECH did an oil tank removal for me which is a multi step process with the town and EPA and heavy equipment. It was buried in my front lawn with plantings all around it and oil left in the tank. In the middle, covid 19 shut down the procedure for two months. They handled all the paperwork and headaches. They couldn t have done a more professional job. They did a perfect job of staging the excavation so there was no damage to lawn and plantings. They handled all the delays, rescheduling, and paperwork. They kept their very fair price. I think ENTECH is probably the best contractor I ever hired."

"Marc went above and beyond when installing a yard drainage system in our side yard. He was quick to give us a competitive quote, easy to work with, and got a complicated job done fast. I would highly recommend him for homeowners looking to modify the slope and or drainage plan for their plot."

"This was quite the project, it started in January 2021. I had an 275 gal tank that was 3/4 full and had a small leak. The tank had not been used in years, I did not even know it had oil in it, it was hidden way behind a wall in the cellar I found Bond-Tite Tank Service through Home Advisor. George at Bond-Tie was such a tremendous help in letting me know what I needed to do could get the oil removed from the tank before his company could remove the tank. Once the oil was remove. Bond -Tite was able to remove the tank. Not an easy task, had to come up my cellar stairs, Ross , Zac Dylan were super, very neat and so careful not to dirty or damage anything. They were so friendly and so pleasant to deal with. Nice group of guys. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing to remove and/or replace an oil tank."

FAQs for excavation projects in Marlborough, MA

Depth depends on the type of installation and the regulations in your area. Water supply lines typically require 24 inches, while drainage pipes are often installed 36 inches below grade. For most general projects, a depth of 12 to 24 inches and a width of about eight inches is sufficient. Sticking to these specs keeps your utilities safe, code-compliant, and easier to maintain later.

When you need to run utilities underground, you’ve got two main options: boring or trenching. Boring employs directional drilling to install utilities without exposing a continuous channel, while trenching requires excavating an open channel to place utilities securely. Directional drilling preserves landscape integrity, whereas trenching provides direct access for installation, albeit with greater surface disruption. This clear comparison helps you select the method best suited to your project.

Plan on 12 hours to dig 100 linear feet when the soil is cooperative and you can work continuously. This timeframe applies when work is performed consistently and methodically. Factors such as rocky soil, tree roots, obstructions, and frozen ground increase the overall duration, demanding extra planning and effort. Comprehensive operational planning ensures that every challenge is managed efficiently and the project is completed on schedule.

If you want your yard to look untouched, laying fresh sod over the trench is the quickest fix. New sod needs 30 to 45 days to root and blend with the rest of your lawn. A local sod pro can provide you with a firm timeline and tips to ensure the grass takes hold and maintains your curb appeal.
