"I hired Dylan to put on a drive way into my place. He came out to my location and wanted to know what I wanted. He suggested a crushed limestone as base and topped with crushed asphalt. They completed the job and looked awesome. I had him complete a circle drive of same material. Very pleased with my new road. Since the road, they have built me a leveled pad for patio, one for building and pad for my new double-wide."

"Kris did a fantastic job clearing and leveling my lot as well as (at my request) constructing a wall, which was a little out his comfort zone at first but in the end the results were amazing. I would 100% hire him again. He was professional and had great communication throughout the duration of the project. His pricing was competitive and I can tell he takes pride in his work. Before we started the project Kris told me he wont leave the site until I am satisfied and he delivered on that promise."

"I turned to Angie’s List to find someone to do some excavation work & leveling for an above ground swimming pool. We purchased our pool in April and reached out to at least a dozen or more companies and they were all either no shows or no response (even after providing us with a quote). It has been beyond frustrating because it was now July and no pool!! So I called Daylon with Giddens & Assoc and immediately got a response back. He came out that same day to look at our property and go over the project. He spent well over an hour discussing our plans & ideas for the project and provided us with a quote by that same evening. We we’re very impressed with him and his enthusiasm for his work so we scheduled a date and a week later he and his crew showed up and knocked it out. He’s personable, punctual, responsive, knowledgeable, and dependable. He does exactly what he says he’s going to do, period! We are very pleased with Giddens & Assoc and would definitely recommend them in the future!!!"

"I am a wheelchair bound veteran. I have been setting up my back yard as a haven for me and my pups. Aubrey came to make an estimate, and showed me that i had done things a bit out of sequence. I should have removed the 2 trees before installing the shed. He talked about taking out the trees and removing the debris, and quoted 1500, to which I said yes. It was a bit pricier than I had hoped. Aubrey came, removed the trees as described and removed the debris. He noticed in this that my wheelchair was getting stuck in the doorway, and installed a threshold ramp without extra charge. I was overjoyed and would highly recommend McLean tree service. Very kind, helpful, observant and above and beyond professional."

"Lot final grade was good. Culvert installation was re-done to meet desired specifications. Throughout the process, Kaleb was available and open to discussions with concrete contractor, resolving issues. His final installation and driveway grade excellent. Highly recommend this contractor. Pricing is upper range. $$$$"

Depth depends on the type of installation and the regulations in your area. Water supply lines typically require 24 inches, while drainage pipes are often installed 36 inches below grade. For most general projects, a depth of 12 to 24 inches and a width of about eight inches is sufficient. Sticking to these specs keeps your utilities safe, code-compliant, and easier to maintain later.
When you need to run utilities underground, you’ve got two main options: boring or trenching. Boring employs directional drilling to install utilities without exposing a continuous channel, while trenching requires excavating an open channel to place utilities securely. Directional drilling preserves landscape integrity, whereas trenching provides direct access for installation, albeit with greater surface disruption. This clear comparison helps you select the method best suited to your project.
Plan on 12 hours to dig 100 linear feet when the soil is cooperative and you can work continuously. This timeframe applies when work is performed consistently and methodically. Factors such as rocky soil, tree roots, obstructions, and frozen ground increase the overall duration, demanding extra planning and effort. Comprehensive operational planning ensures that every challenge is managed efficiently and the project is completed on schedule.
If you want your yard to look untouched, laying fresh sod over the trench is the quickest fix. New sod needs 30 to 45 days to root and blend with the rest of your lawn. A local sod pro can provide you with a firm timeline and tips to ensure the grass takes hold and maintains your curb appeal.
