"We recently hired Mulryan Excavating to regrade and slope out back yard. We were unable to mow and maintain the yard because it was nothing but big ruts and overgrown brush. They came with their equipment and completely regraded everything and made it manageable."

"K & L Excavating removed an inground fuel oil tank, hauled it away and filled in the hole. I was impressed with their professionalism and they left the area looking great. They had the right equipment and were cleaned up and gone in 2 hours and 45 minutes."

"Last summer I had Advanced Restoration provide me a proposal to repair my crawlspace which was affordable and with a lifetime warranty. Marty, the Estimator was very helpful, took pictures and described what needed to be done. He was laid back and its refreshing to have someone who comes from help instead of trying sell me something. All the crew was very helpful, informative keeping me apprised of the progress and work. Every day they did a wonderful job of cleaning up, especially since my crawlspace access is in the garage. At completion, the Installers sat down with me and described everything they had done with great detail. Also, a superb job of clean at the end of the job in the crawlspace. I would recommend them to anybody."

"Jason McCord, Nagas business owner, had his crew here on time on agreed morning and prepped the areas for replacement trees while he was at the nursery picking up the new trees. By the time he arrived, the men had everything ready for the trees to be planted. In no time it seemed the four trees were in the ground and the rest of the planting of other smaller plants could be done. We had a couple of 30 foot birch trees we wanted removed and after lunch that began. No problem with those and once they were down, all of the trunk and branches were loaded and gone. When the cleanup was done we now have a beautiful landscape once again. Our gratitude to a job well done

FAQs for excavation projects in Tunnelton, IN

Depth depends on the type of installation and the regulations in your area. Water supply lines typically require 24 inches, while drainage pipes are often installed 36 inches below grade. For most general projects, a depth of 12 to 24 inches and a width of about eight inches is sufficient. Sticking to these specs keeps your utilities safe, code-compliant, and easier to maintain later.

When you need to run utilities underground, you’ve got two main options: boring or trenching. Boring employs directional drilling to install utilities without exposing a continuous channel, while trenching requires excavating an open channel to place utilities securely. Directional drilling preserves landscape integrity, whereas trenching provides direct access for installation, albeit with greater surface disruption. This clear comparison helps you select the method best suited to your project.

Plan on 12 hours to dig 100 linear feet when the soil is cooperative and you can work continuously. This timeframe applies when work is performed consistently and methodically. Factors such as rocky soil, tree roots, obstructions, and frozen ground increase the overall duration, demanding extra planning and effort. Comprehensive operational planning ensures that every challenge is managed efficiently and the project is completed on schedule.

If you want your yard to look untouched, laying fresh sod over the trench is the quickest fix. New sod needs 30 to 45 days to root and blend with the rest of your lawn. A local sod pro can provide you with a firm timeline and tips to ensure the grass takes hold and maintains your curb appeal.
