"We wanted the work done on a specific week and they accommodated our schedule. The quality of the windows are excellent and the staining job completed by Bee Windows is the perfect match with our existing wood work. Faeber's sent a long time employee, Jim to run our installation job. He and his crew did the full house and patio door in two days time. They were very professional and did quality work. They even washed the new windows before leaving. Thank you for a job well done. Ron and Cynthia"

"Tuck pointing jobs went as planned and on budget.  Patio project grew in scale after work was begun.  Could have done a better job of estimating cost of patio.  The quality of work was very good and they returned to address our concerns.  Will hire them again."

"I had some haiI damage caused by a storm that came through last fall.  I filed a claim with State Farm, but since it was so late in the year, I decided to wait for better weather to have the work done.  I called Maximus General at the end of August and Eric Hunsucker came out and we discussed the claim and the work he would provide.  He upgraded me to architectural shingles and threw in some attic vents that were not in the claim.
The roofers were a well oiled machine.  They replaced the roof on my garage in one evening and they started on the house the next day.  When they tore the shingles off, they found there was a gap between the boards on the roof.  Eric called me and told me that he could not guarantee the work without new decking.  He worked directly with State Farm to get the decking replaced.
I also had him do some extra work that was not in the claim.  I had some rotted wood around the gutters which I had them replace,
There was a storm door on the back of the house I needed replaced. Also the claim covered some painting on some of the window trim.  I decided I would like the entire trim on the house and garage painted as well.  He had his painting estimator came out and quoted $2600 for the painting work.
The painting looked really good, but I had to have them come back a couple times for missed spots, but Eric made sure the work was done right and that I was happy with the work.
The gutters were a better quality than what I had and was also done in a day.
Overall I am quite happy with the way the work was done and how much better my house looks now.

FAQs for fireplace and wood stove service projects in Hemlock, IN

Start with a professional inspection. If damage is limited to a few bricks or the crown, a targeted repair helps keep costs and disruption to a minimum. Severe leaning, widespread mortar failure, or major fire damage usually signals it’s time for a complete teardown and rebuild. Your contractor will outline both price tags, but remember that rebuilding a failing stack is often cheaper than repeated patch jobs and the water leaks or fire hazards they allow.

Cracks provide water with an easy path into the masonry, weakening the bricks and mortar and increasing the risk of collapse or fire. Gaps can also let hot gases and sparks escape into attic spaces. Call a chimney pro as soon as you see cracking so they can seal small joints or recommend a larger rebuild before minor damage turns into a costly emergency.

Smoke rolling back into the room often indicates a blocked flue, a broken damper, or a drafting issue. Have a sweep inspect the damper, flue liner, and any obstructions right away. Most fixes involve clearing debris, repairing the liner, or adjusting the damper so the fireplace pulls air correctly. Don’t light another fire until a professional pinpoints the cause and confirms your system is venting safely.

Most policies cover chimney repairs caused by a sudden, covered event, such as lightning, a fallen tree, or a house fire. They won’t cover damage that stems from neglected maintenance or everyday wear. Review your policy or contact your agent before scheduling work to determine what documentation your insurer requires and what costs you will be responsible for.

Component life spans vary. Clay tile or cast-in-place liners last close to 50 years, while stainless-steel liners last 15 to 20 years. Mortar requires attention every 25 to 30 years, while crowns last 50 to 75 years. Use these numbers as a maintenance roadmap: schedule regular inspections, budget for future upgrades, and replace parts before age-related cracks develop into more significant problems.
