A part of that agreement included removing carpet and refinishing the stairway from first to second. When the carpet was removed, we were surprised, the stairs needed to be totally rebuilt. David kept us informed promptly when unexpected challenges arose with the stairs, listened to our preferences, presented alternatives and estimates, completed the work in time for the next contractor on our project, and made sure we were happy with the result. The carpet was torn out and conveniently left in small, manageable pieces for disposal. Trim was taken off carefully and put aside in an organized way. The floor under the carpet was in the worst shape (we had no idea), it had black stains from previous owners of our house who kept their dogs in that room. They were able to remove 95% of the stains, and once the final coat of finish was applied the remaining was hardly noticeable."
