"Derk came out and did a thorough inspection and made recommendations on what needed to be done.  He took measurements throughout the house and then discussed his recommendations on what should be done.  Rather than use the scare approach and put down other companies the way other contractors had done, he took a more conservative approach to fixing the problem and was extremely professional in explaining what he would be doing.  . 
He put piers around the entire perimeter of the house and when it was completed, the house felt good as new.  He did explain that leveling the house would not fill in the cracks that showed up when the house had settled but we had high hopes it would.  He told us to wait 90 days to fix the interior cracks and warned us that more cracking could occur.  We waited and did the work and five months later, we have no signs of any more problems.
The only negative thing I can say is that his workers left the area littered with water bottles but when I pointed it out to him, he had it taken care of immediately.
Communication was excellent.  He responded right away any time i had a question.

"When you need foundation work done check for these things: - prior foundation work done on your house - ask the representative who comes in and takes the level readings how far off level is your foundation. When the representative came and took the readings on our house, he did not say how off level it was. All he said was the house was leaning bad on the right side. When the foundation team came to install the piers, I found out that the house was off level by 1/2 inch (ca. 5 cm)! I paid almost $13,000 to have the right side of the house lifted 1/4 inch (ca. 10 cm). And then come to find out when the foundation crew started digging, previous foundation work had already been done! - read, reread and reread the contract before you sign it! Ask any question no matter how stupid you may think it is! - make sure you have a 4-inch sewer clean out so a plumber hired by the foundation company can come in and do a PRE and post hydrostatic test. Any water leaks in your plumbing will void the contract! All plumbing issues are the homeowners financial responsibility to repair!"

"I was losing confidence in the integrity of my home until Hercules stopped the settling of our slab foundation and reversed some of the damage caused by an uneven slab. Specifically, in my own living room, I was not supposed to be watching a 20 foot long crack develop in the ceiling and then expand to 1/4 inch wide. But on the day of the foundation lift, 2 dramatic improvements took place as the team of foundation experts hydraulically re-leveled the South end of the house. The wide gap in living room ceiling closed! A couple of inside doors all of a sudden latched for the first time in more than seven years! We feel like we can re-paint again inside, because results of painting will no longer be undone by future settling and cracking. Installing foundation support pillars underneath residence is no small matter, but after receiving 2 independent assessments documenting our tilted foundation I was confident that something had to change. Allen Alexander worked with us persistently until the project was done. Velocity of cleanup the day after the foundation lift was amazing. Allen responded quickly to my inputs. We opted for a comprehensive one-time reinforcement of our entire foundation. Some shrubs were lost and the foundation repair disrupted our lives for a few days, but I will no longer get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach every time additional foundation shift occurs. Complexity of the effort by Hercules was significant. We not only enjoy a level foundation now, but also took care of long delayed repairs to both bathrooms in our residence. Broken sewer pipes underneath the foundation are challenging to access. For a foundation repair company accessing pipes near the exterior of the residential foundation is a practical solution."

He explained throughly to my husband and I the whole process of the repair giving us the best and not so best options for our foundation. Well, we chose the best option for our home. "Met with John & Brent as site. After evaluating the job, John sat in his truck & prepared his quote. In addition to the basic "leveling"' of the house, John included additional services such as leveling the front & rear porches & removing "exposed" foundation for front porch. I reviewed their quote & actually "studied" their quote then call John. Over the phone we negotiated the services & price & came to an agreement. Bats required a 10% deposit or down payment with a balance due upon finalization. They do charge a service fee for using plastic but in my case, the deposit was not too much so the fee was waved. Their agreement is one 8-1/2 x 15 page; very simple & straight forward. Basically its a quantity listing of the services with the math extended to illustrate the total cost of services.Very little "legalese." While I was still "considering" their services, John called me with an opening in their schedule. We came to an agreement over the phone & they started a week later. John explained that his crew would start on Monday & finish three days later... They did. I visited the site & noon on the third day. They were finishing up the extra services with temporary supports in place under the house while concrete dried. Very satisfied with Bats Foundation Repair."
