"The representative from Basement Systems showed up right on time and got right to work taking measurements and asking questions about the space where the work was to be done. When he was done, he came back upstairs and presented very detailed drawings of the proposed work, which included a perimeter drainage system with redundant sump pumps in a newly-dug pit, which would feed into a pop-up outlet in the back yard. The sales pitch was similar to the others we had seen, where we were educated on how water gets into the basement, understanding hydrostatic pressure against the home's foundation, and where water wants to go.
A few days after receiving the quote, we asked for him to come back and give us a quote for a gravity-fed system, rather than a sump-pump system. He stopped over within the same day, I believe, and took measurements, and called me at work right from my back yard.
The price for the system was nearly the lowest of any others we had gotten, though we ended up not going with them because they were unwilling to do a gravity-fed system to the back of our property, as it did not have sufficient grading. The system itself seems to have a smaller channel than that of other basement waterproofing solutions, but it seemed like it would be adequate to me.

"Our basement has a huge sloping rock in it-the foundation was built around it when the house was built in the 50's. Over the past 5-6 years, water has seeped in more and more at the top of the rock where it meets the ground right next to the foundation and rolled down the rock to the cellar floor, threatening to flow over to the finished side of the basement. First we put a new drainage system outside the house but that did not help. Five years ago we had another basement company come and they told us all we would need is a dehumidifier and that would dry up the water. We bought their big dehumidifier but nope, that did not make a dent in it, it has just gotten worse each year. I called CT Basement Systems late last fall and a very, very nice representative came, looked at the rock and the water flowing down it and was confident their system would take care of the problem. I have a friend that used them for water in her basement and she has raved about them and has never had a drop of water since her system was installed. I paid the deposit and the technicians came exactly when they said they would. They did a great job, were very professional and left the cellar area very clean in spite of all the dust that must have been generated by the jackhammering. I am very happy with the job they did. However, there has been one unexpected problem. Before the drain was put in, I had been buying absorbent socks, flood bags and all kinds of things to soak up the water. Now we just let the water course down the rock into the drain guard, which then funnels it to the sump. We discovered that some of the water drains down to our brick chimney, which abuts the big rock . Instead of continuing it's flow down the rock to the drain, some water is soaking into the gravel around the chimney and then coming out on the other side, where there is no drain guard, making puddles on the floor again. We think the rock needs a thin lip of cement to direct the flow down and away from the chimney area. So, I called the salesman. No call back. I emailed him. No reply. I called and left another message but nothing. I called the company and asked if they would give him a message to call me. No response. So, I can only surmise that they are completely uninterested in this, now that the job is done. I now have a mason coming to do the cement. It is too bad, because I was so impressed with the salesman when he came and also with the installers. I would recommend the product and the installation service beyond a shadow of a doubt. But the lack of customer service after the fact is a huge disappointment. I actually do not mind having our own mason come and do the job. If they had called me back, I would have told them that- I really just wanted to get their opinion on the problem. But they apparently just don't want to be bothered."

"Let me start by telling you my backstory. I live in a house built in 1929, it has a stone foundation. It wasn't until Hurricane Sandy that I felt the effects of a house that had no waterproofing and we had about three feet of water. We did a little bit of mitigation, and had no more problems for awhile. More recently, NY had five days of non stop rain and the walls in basement and flooring barely held it together. And there was very little dust. It only took two full days of his crew working nonstop. I was a bit nervous about cutting the walls, but he picked up the phone every time I called. If he was busy, he texted me right away and got back to me in 30 minutes. (And I call a lot). I am happy with the results. My contractor checked it out and said American Dry did a great job after dropping by to see the results. And most of all, we can sleep when it rains. We are ready!!! "As I did the first time I used Bob Lindsay's company, I waited six months to write my review. After withstanding nearly 13" of water from Henri and Ida, I cannot recommend this company enough. We used Bob at my first house and decided to use him again when our final walkthrough of our house revealed a wet carpet in the finished basement. Bob's guys replaced the shallow existing window wells with much deeper, galvanized ones, backfilled them with stone and piped them into a perimeter channel drain that was then flashed and cemented to the basement floor height. The sump pump pit was installed and a battery backup system was provided and wired in. The outside grading around the window wells was also redone to slope any surface water away from the foundation. Due to our Radon mitigation system, a polyurethane caulk was also used to seal the system. We remained absolutely bone-dry these last few weeks despite rain falling at 2-3" per hour in some cases. The work is efficient, his guys are extremely friendly and skilled, and despite the messiness of the job, they do a fabulous job cleaning up. There is a certain peace of mind that having this type of work done provides, and you cannot put a price tag on it, especially if you plan on finishing (or refinishing) a basement. At the end of the job, Bob was even kind enough to have one of his guys tie in a 2" piece of PVC from the floor with a cap (which I then drilled a hole in) so I can run my dehumidifier constantly without ever having to empty the bucket. We have since refinished our basement to our liking and know for certain that this was the best home investment we could have possibly made. A friend of ours has also done her entire basement with Weather-Tite and had an equally wonderful experience. Thanks Bob for saving us not once, but twice."
