"JD was a wonderful find. He is friendly, flexible, and
focused. I had retired from teaching in Brooklyn, NY to share a house with my
mother, and there were times when we needed skilled hands to help us with some
of the refurbishing tasks. He did all kinds of jobs for us, including painting (bathrooms
and porch furniture), hanging wall art and a stained glass window, replacing
doors, assembling a new bed with heavy head and footboards, replacing rotted
wood on exterior window frames, assembling other furniture pieces, and too many
other small tasks to mention. He made my
transition much easier, and I will continue to contact him for any other needs
that we might have. He is a very competent handyman.

"They were very unorganized. They advertized a quality experience that they did not provide, especially concerning things like plumbing and electrical items. Some things we even had to help out with and tell them what to do. We had a hard time getting them to do the finishing touches and project touch-ups on the bathroom. Overall, I'm 90% happy with the job and the look of my bathroom but I would not use them again for anything. The tile work is good--it's not great but it's pretty good. There were some things that they didn't check. Also, they wouldn't want to work in the rain even though they were working inside our house. They made a mess on my back porch where they cut and painted stuff. I had to clean Sheetrock mud off my sliding glass door, and they never offered to vacuum. We had bought a really nice cabinet for them to put in there and they kept looking for the hardware for it. They called me and accused my teenagers of moving their hardware for the installation. The next day they found it, one of their own employees had moved it. There were a bunch of little things that added up to be larger things. I'm not totally dissatisfied with the work, the bathroom does look great. I just won't be using them for upcoming projects."

"Mike did a great job! I have been looking for an all around handyman to fix and install things around a property that I own. I'm glad I found Mike. He has already done two jobs for me. He is flexible schedule-wise and very responsive to texts and calls. His prices are not the lowest but they are reasonable. Very friendly and polite to me and my tenants and he can do a lot of different types of work. I highly recommend him as a general contractor/handyman."

"The garage door opener needed a part that took almost a month to arrive. Fridge and dishwasher also got few weeks before they were actually repaired."

"The receptionist took the call and told me to expect a all from the technician. He called back immediately to set up an appointment. Greg was quick and professional. I plan to hire them again if I need anything. I went into their office to pay the bill and the receptionist was very helpful and pleasant."

ROOFING AND GENERAL REMODELING
Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
