"Kyle was very professional and friendly. He was able to replace my front door with very little mess and fast. He was also able to do another project of replacing a ceiling fan for a small additional cost. He was knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions. I'm planning on using him again for a future bathroom remodel!! Thank you!!"

"This contractor is terrific! We discussed the work I wanted to have done including building a decorative privacy fence, two gates, installing closet and bedroom doors, finish trim work on my flooring and I needed it done very quickly. Tommy showed up with his team and even with the challenges they did a beautiful job. Everyday they showed up on time which is amazing all by itself. Most contractors don't even show up! They were professional and communicated with us every step of the way. The team worked late to be sure that the work was completed quickly and cleaned up at the end of each day. My fence is beautiful and the bedroom doors look amazing. We are so thankful for BHK Construction and the blessing they were to our family. I highly recommend them for any work you may need done in your home. If I were going to have any further work done on my home, I would call BHK. Honesty and integrity are a core value of this company. You will not be disappointed."

"In late 2020, my husband and I thought painting the kitchen cabinets would be a good project to work on together. 4 months later, our enthusiasm had faded and with only half of the cabinet doors removed and sanded. Then there was a change in plans and we had to host a bridal shower at our home in a little over a month. We were frantic! And after a couple of weeks we realized that we needed a professional to finish the job. Doug was one of 2 painters that responded, and I chose Doug. He came over to see our cabinets and agreed to have all 27 cabinets and 9 drawers painted and installed before the bridal shower. We provided a sample color that we wanted and Doug was able to match it perfectly. The cabinets and drawers were shiny and beautifully painted, We had so many compliments on how it looked. While Doug was installing the cabinets, we had noticed that some cabinets needed a little better coverage. He told me to contact him after the shower, and he would remove the affected cabinets and do some tough up painting. We were extremely pleased with Doug's professionalism and would definitely hire Sasaki Painting in the future and recommend them to our family and friends."

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
