"Mark was as professional as they come. He kept in constant contact with me, he called me the day before the garage door was supposed to be done to ask me if it could be installed that day. Don't know what more a person could ask for"

"We were having problems with our garage door openers, plus we wanted to upgrade our garage doors which were installed back in 1991. Called CJ on a Saturday and he came and gave us our options. We opted for 3 new carriage style doors with Liftmaster openers. CJ and his crew came the following Thursday and did the complete installation in one day. We are very pleased with the quick response to our call, the installation and love our new doors and openers. We would highly recommend Cleveland County Garage Door for installation or repairs."

"Ken was great to work with. He’s very responsive and wants to make it as easy as he can for the homeowner. I do NOT like how the company does their pricing. They do not give you a set estimate for the project. They’d need to give me a fixed estimate and do change orders like a normal contractor or we would not hire them again. If they changed that we’d hire Ken again."

"Absolutely phenomenal experience with Precision Garage Door Service. My technician, Dylan Starnes, was incredible from start to finish. I called Precision, and literally within 30 minutes Dylan was already at my house diagnosing the issue, giving me an estimate, and getting right to work installing a new garage door motor. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and explained everything thoroughly. You can tell he genuinely knows what he’s doing and takes pride in his work. Not only was he fast and efficient, but he also made sure everything was installed perfectly, tested multiple times, and cleaned up everything afterward like he was never even there. The entire process was smooth, stress-free, and honestly one of the best service experiences I’ve had in a long time. It’s hard to find people who are this prompt, hardworking, and respectful nowadays. Could not recommend Dylan enough, If you get him as your technician, you are in great hands!"
Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
