"Kirk from Reliable Gargage Door came and helped fix my garage door. He did an excellent job going through the process of unstuck the door to replacing the springs and recalibrate the opener. He went extra step in fixing/replacing the anchor of the retractor beam, which also broke. I would recommend Kirk and Reliable Gargage Door to everyone needs garage door services."

"Great service! Ben, the technician, arrived during the promised window, was friendly, courteous, professional, and efficient. He advised regarding options for service (lube & tune of existing system) vs motor replacement. Ben also advised that if I elected service vs replacement at this time and subsequently (within one year) replaced the motor, the cost for the lube & tune service would be credited toward the purchase price of a new motor. I'm very satisfied with the entire customer experience. Ben was excellent and I would highly recommend Local Garage Door Company."

"Everything from the estimate to the installation of the garage door went smoothly. Junior Cardona was the installation technician and the projected arrival time was set for between 8 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Junior arrived by 8:45 a.m., completed the removal of the old wooden door and installed the new track and metal door and was done in less than 5 hours doing the whole job by himself which was very impressive!"

"We had a great experience with Hello Garage of Napa Valley and highly recommend them for anyone considering a garage renovation in The Bay / East Bay. Jacob, their lead designer, was a pleasure to work with - friendly, not pushy, and very knowledgeable. He offered excellent design suggestions that improved the final result and made the process smooth from start to finish. The installers, Talon and Nick, were outstanding. They were professional, efficient, and even helped move our washer, dryer, and refrigerator before starting the work. The quality of their workmanship was top-notch. What really stood out was the follow-up. Jacob came back afterward to help move everything back into place just out of courtesy, and later returned to discuss shelving and storage options once the garage was complete. If you?re looking for garage flooring, storage solutions, or a full garage makeover in NorCal, Hello Garage is a great choice. We?re very happy with the results and would absolutely use"

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
