"John is very knowledgeable and will make sure you understand every step of the process before he does it. He managed to fix a complete disaster installed by someone else and he got it looking like a million bucks. A lot of companies say "We aren't satisfied until the customer is satisfied" but John really means it. I would recommend him, without hesitation."

"They were awesome.  I had an oddball sized garage door and they were able to locate and install a new one, add a lift motor, replace all of the channeling and add an outside entry keypad.  Now I'm able to park the cars inside once again.

"Wally was terrific. Responsive, patient, with good ideas. We wanted to use someone for our design who was not going to perform the actual remodel work so that we could get honest assessments of our ideas. Wally's prior building experience came in handy as we asked him questions about the feasibility of our ideas and relative costs. I would recommend him as a good place to start your remodel efforts. He will come out to your home and talk to you about what you want generally. Then he give you a price. Next he will take measurements and photos. Then he goes to work on your design. He consults with you along the way, using a computer program where you are online at the same time he is, That allows you to see his drawings, talk about changes, modifications, etc. At that time, he can make many of those changes or at least notes about them, while you watch. When you are satisfied that he has drawn what you want your remodel to look like, he will deliver the final product. His ability to show you a 3-D image do what he has drawn is very helpful in deciding if you like how it is going to look. You will have several copies of blueprints to give to a contractor who wants to bid on the project. Definitely worth the money.

"Overall, I thought the Andsons crew were all very polite and truly good people. However, I don't think I would recommend them for an interior painting job (granted, they did mention their specialty was renovations and not painting). Cons: -It took a month to finish what probably could have been completed in a shorter amount of time if more than one person was dedicated to the project. Had I known it would mainly be one worker, I would have a selected a different crew who could get the project done sooner. -Besides the work done by the one crew member which was great, the quality was mixed. Sometimes, I could tell a good amount of effort was placed. Others, it seemed rushed (e.g., paint left in door knobs, paint stains on our bath mats). They did offer (and followed through with this) to come back and do touch-ups wherever needed -We are very punctual people, but there were multiple times when an ETA was established, but they wouldnâ t arrive until much later. Better communication would have resolved this. Pros: -Very nice people. Paul is very generous and a pleasure to talk to. One of the crew members in particular was especially thorough and a hard worker, but was unable to finish the project due to personal circumstances -We were given the opportunity to mark areas that needed touch-ups for about a week before they returned for a final sweep"

FAQs for garage and garage door service projects in Wichita Falls, TX

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.

Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.

A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.

Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.

A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.

Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.

If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
