"Marco is one of the best technicians. He got out of his way to ensure customer service and did. We also did not have any problems with our garage. Highly recommend STI garage door if you have any problems with your garage. PS. They even installed a code on my other garage. You will never regret using them. Please try them out"

"Orlando was exceptionally professional. He kept me informed about his arrival time and was on time. When he finished the job he shared tips on how to maintain the door in order to extend its performance. If I ever need another garage door issue, I will definitely use Roll Door Garage again. "Recommendation for General Remodeling Group: Reliable, Quality Work I hired General Remodeling Group (GRG) for two major projects in my home: a kitchen and dining room remodel ($75k in 2016) and bathroom renovations ($55k in 2018). Visvydas and his team delivered dependable craftmanship, and Iâ m still very satisfied with the results years later. Attention to Detail and Consistent Communication From start to finish, Visvydas kept me updated at every step with straightforward communication, making the whole process run smoothly. GRGs attention to detail also stood out they handled each punch list item promptly, completing everything to a high standard without cutting corners. In addition to my home, I also manage contractors at work, and I know this level of thoroughness is rare. Most contractors leave me frustrated with incomplete tasks, but with GRG, everything was done as it should be. For that reason alone, I feel compelled to recommend GRG, they get the job completed 100% without a fight! Skilled Team with Integrity and Flexibility GRG offers a flexible design-build approach, letting clients be as hands-on or hands-off as they prefer whether you want to make only the big decisions or get involved in the details. I was actively involved and appreciated how Visvydas collaborated with me, offering thoughtful advice and the chance to adjust along the way. Others I know who worked with GRG preferred less involvement and were equally happy with the outcome. They also brought in skilled subcontractors from masons and plumbers to electricians who truly know their craft. When I considered having GRG install new exterior doors and windows (over $100k), they recommended a specialist from another company, showing a real commitment to quality over profit. It reminded me of Miracle on 34th Street, where one shop suggests going to the competition to ensure customer satisfaction. Quality That Holds Up Over Time GRGs work included installing and modifying cabinetry that perfectly matched our kitchen design and detailed tiling that elevated our bathroom, and they performed major plumbing and electrical work without issue. We recently sold our home, and GRGs work still looked new. Even the home inspector praised their craftsmanship; the cabinets, tile, and plumbing looked and worked as if they were just installed. Their work clearly added value to our property. If you want quality work that stands the test of time, I highly recommend General Remodeling Group. GRG delivered for my family and friends, and even eight years later, we are grateful we chose them. PS I rarely see a contractor finish every punch list item 100%, but with GRG, it is like discovering unicorns are real. That alone makes them worth recommending."

"It took about two months to finally get my closet installed. Workmanship and quality was well worth the wait. Stephan and Even were working hard from beginning to end. Worked about 7hrs straight without a break. Couldn't get over how heavy and well made the shelves and doors were. You may pay a little more, but it is worth it. Will definitely recommend and use them again."

"From the beginning, I knew that Justin LeBlanc was knowledgeable and professional. He set up a time for an estimate at a time when I could be there, and he was neatly dressed and ready to take notes. After a good walk-through of the situation, he said he would get back to me in a day or two with an estimate based on the laundry list we had agreed on. He did, and I have to say that the estimate was reasonable and competitive. What impressed me was his professionalism, willingness to listen, and ability to respond to questions in a way that showed me he had been in the business a while and knew what he was doing (he eventually told me he had worked for his father's company for a number of years). I sent in my 50% deposit and got on the calendar to start work.
After one schedule delay day and one rain day, he and a teammate showed up bright and early and got right to work. They were neat and careful, and they didn't mind me asking questions along the way. They replaced all the wood trim around the windows, up the corners, and at the top of the front of the house, and their painter had all that painted by Day 2. However, also on Day 2 they discovered while taking trim down around the garage entrance that a load-bearing beam had sustained a good amount of termite damage. This required another estimate for a separate task (replacing that beam and rebuilding the entrance to the garage) that took place a week later when it fit into his schedule, but one that came with improvements to the garage entrance that oddly, the builder and/or previous owners didn't include (like insulation in the front-facing wall on either side of the garage entrance, and stripping around the garage door that keeps air from leaking through). He even installed a new outside light by the garage for me. He would have put the old one back up, but we agreed the one I picked out was much nicer. And it is!
When unexpected things like termite damage pop up, it's easy to understand how schedules can slip a day. It was nothing in my book compared to the expertly skilled service, communication, and humor Justin and his team brought to the job. I believe the worth of the improvement in my home's structure and appearance is greater than what I spent, and I have found a contractor I WILL bring back to my home for other projects. I've given his cards to a handful of people already, and a few neighbors have come by to comment on the work as well.
On a side note, as he was preparing the estimate for the unexpected garage work, Justin let me know that he finally got one of those credit card swipers for his smart phone. That was a relief to hear, as I was not financially prepared for that surprise. He swiped the card, I signed the screen, and a receipt showed up in my email inbox. Nice!
Thanks, guys! I hope to see you again soon for the next tasks on my list!

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
