"Great work! Keaton was able to diagnose and estimate a fix for my furnace. Came out the next day to replace a part and do some regular maintenance on the furnace and air conditioner. Very happy with the work."

"Chad did a Furnace and Air Conditioner Tune up at my home. He was very personable, professional and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and concerns during the appointment. He took care of a condensation leak and said “ If it comes back, let me know and I’ll come back to take care of it.” He was very thorough and gave me pointers on taking care of the Furnace and AC. We will most definitely hire Sterling Heating and Cooling for our Furnace and AC needs."

"Outstanding workmanship and service, highly recommended! I had All Fuel install a Jotul wood stove, liner, and hearth pad in early 2019. Garrett was extremely helpful right from his first site visit and throughout the whole process. Even though he does not make any money from stove sales, he patiently answered numerous questions and emails from me (often at 7 AM) as I was going through the decision-making process of which stove to get and how to make the stove fit with the existing fireplace opening. His advice was always spot-on and really helped to get all the pieces in place well before the work started. The installation itself could not have been smoother or turned out better. Garrett and his colleague took the time and care to make sure everything was installed properly and neatly. They even set up a tent around the work site to contain all the dust. Garrett also rush-ordered a custom-made heat deflector, which was installed a couple of days later. Jason, who did that install, was very helpful and accommodating as well, and went out of his way to ensure that the heat deflector was painted in the color I wanted (a small but important detail). Finally, without charging anything extra, Garrett custom-fabricated a trim piece in his shop for the hearth pad and came by yesterday to install it. I could not be happier with how everything turned out -- the stove works perfectly, and the entire setup looks beautiful. Absolutely top-notch service and quality, and at an entirely reasonable price. I would go with All Fuel again in a heartbeat. It is clearly a company that deeply cares about service, workmanship, and customer satisfaction. Thank you, Garrett, Jason, Joe, Sheri and the rest of the team for such a pleasant experience."

Small jobs welcome

"I liked working with a journeyman plumber. He did a great job re-fitting a new faucet system into the space. Took him about 8 hours of work. My issue is with their pricing structure. I will probably look for services that charge hourly rates or 'by the job' - $3200 for 8 hours work was a bit steep for my budget. But, I have no issue with the quality of the work."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Camas, WA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
