"I knew I had more trouble than just a service. Very friendly and courteous. Would gladly hire again. They installed a/c & furnace for a very fair price and installed it that Monday. Cleaned up everything and left no mess."

"This is the first of my ratings which covers the introduction and project planning. Paul is professional and intelligent about my needs. The pricing is standard for the item and labor. I got a good feeling and have no reservations in refering Eagle Heating & Air to others. We are a go for the installation and commissioning phase. Installation is complete on my new Goodman Furnace. This was a challenging install into a 30 year old house trailer. Paul and Butch have done an exceptional job and I am very happy with the results. I would recommend Eagle Heating and Air, LLC to any of my friends and for any further work."

"Prompt, very friendly, They knew the equipment very well. Did the job faster than told when they started, and they needed to run 3 new heat air runs ! Very profesional work ( I work in maintenance and know a quality job) They cleaned up after themselves, removed old unit and took it with them. I could not be more happy with the job they done. If I every need servicing of the furnace in the years to come, I would spend the exta cost of travel to have those guys fix the furnace. And no I never met the person before they installed the furnace. Very content Don S."

"We own a home-based business which relies heavily on our computers operating efficiently. We have had a service contract with another computer repair business for several years. Recently when we were having problems with our computers, we tried contacting our service contractor multiple times. He never responded. Feeling frustrated, I contacted James at North Alabama Technical Services and explained our situation. He instantly came to our rescue. He "cleaned-up" our computers and took care of all the problems we were experiencing. He went above and beyond to help us in our dire time of need. We would strongly recommend James and his company for computer service needs. We have now retained him on a service contract and are looking forward to working with him in the future."

"We don't use them for repairs because they're too expensive. They do subsequent cleaning services. I have an older home so it was a little bit tricky. They were very professional and they were a very capable group of people. They knew how to work in the older homes around my area. They clean up after themselves and they explained all the features of our new furnace. That's an investment too. Since it is an older home, they did replace some of the duct work and they did a fine job there too. Sometimes its a little bit difficult with all the nooks and crannies in an older home. They've managed to maneuver it into the areas that we needed it. They took the time and they were willing to explain all the things that they were doing before they did and the layout of it after they did the work so we understood exactly what they accomplished. We got to choose the heating system we wanted and because of the age of our home, we had to specialty design some of the duct work that had to be replaced. They're really good. They've been around the area for years. They're very expensive when it comes to service calls and repairs. They were competitive. There are a few competitors out here. Everybody was pretty much in line. I wanted the type of furnace that they were offering. We did our research and they had the best model. With the service call, they were $80 walking in the door. The products that they sell are carbolic products, they don't have to come in often. If they do it hurts a little bit. Its little bit more expensive when they have to come in and fix."

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
