"h +Seth was great. He installed the receiver (which we needed and purchased from him @ an additional cost) and hooked up our in home audio system which went through our house and outside patio. He encountered a glitch when there was evidently a problem with the wiring. He did some trouble shooting and found it was a crossed wire from the last home owner/builder. He was friendly, polite and professional. He did not try to push additional charges on us, only what we needed and wanted. We give him an A+!

"Chad, the Consultant is very knowledgeable on the functions and efficiency of the different systems. Very thorough explaining the levels of efficiency, pros/cons, etc. The level of service during the consultation was exceptional, and surpassed my expectations on the initial consultation from other local companies I reached out to for estimates. His thoroughness gave me confidence that the installation of the system would be just as exceptional. The company extended some courtesies I was not expecting prior to the installation. The installation was just as good as I was assured. Mr. Alexander, the owner, was at the house at the beginning of the installation to ensure everything was good and as expected. The team was considered, focused, thorough and very patient and respectful with my questions. They worked expeditiously, and did troubleshooting at the end to ensure it all worked properly, then cleaned up all the areas prior to leaving. I am very impressed with the service and overall quality of the work. I am very satisfied with the end result, and feel very grateful I did not settle with the other estimates I received from the other A/C companies. Based on my experience, and how selective I can be, I consider Alexander Air Conditioning a first class business and highly recommend it. I want to publicly thank Chad, because in my case, he was the face of the company, he represented well, he was genuinly interested in educating me, which resulted on my decision to select this company. I also want to thank the installation team for the detailed and high quality work they performed! Thank you!!!!"

"We had many issues with our computer - primarily with the CD/DVD drive and iTunes. Jim eliminated over 700 viruses from our computer, which was just the beginning. There continued to be problems within the systems of the computer. Luckily Jim charges by the job and not by the hour because he worked a LONG time to make it all work. He kept in touch with me and addressed each issue as it arose until the job was done. He was professional and courteous and hung in there until I was satisfied he had addressed everything. I would highly recommend Jim and will definitely use his services in the future, as needed.

"What an awesome company to work with! One Call Roofing not only provided the best, most comprehensive roofing estimate at the beginning, they were there toward the end of the project when we suddenly decided to replace our self-installed gutter system to match the prestige of our new roof.
Roof Details:
Gutter Details:
- Our old roof was a roughly 15 year old, three tab design with a single wind vent on a 1050sqft home.
- Our new roof is a CertainTeed guaranteed dimensional shingle design.
- One Call installed new soffit vents front and back, and upgraded our ventilation to ridge vents to match manufacturer requirements.
- Our roofline looks better, more streamlined, and the attic itself is noticeably cooler since the install. (We did before/after temperature checks in similar temperatures/humidity).
- I was up on the roof myself within 30 minutes of the crew leaving after the install and their workmanship is great. The drip edge was installed great. They caulked under the eves. They painted all of our vent pipes to match the color scheme. I picked up a couple of tacks, but other than that I was very impressed.
The crews for both jobs were professional, efficient, and thorough. The One Call representative was amazingly responsive to any issues we had during the install - it is almost like they sit by their phones waiting for a call, even though I know they are busy. Experience-wise, we had a couple of minor scheduling snafus, but nothing they didn't make up for. Looking back, this was one of the most organized contracting jobs I've ever dealt with as the customer and I highly recommend them.
- Old gutters were Lowes brand do-it-youtself gutters which were dated, leaked and were not compatible with the gutter guard we asked One Call to install.
- One Call responded quickly and had an installer out to install custom made-onsite gutters within the week. They even added upgraded gutter guard at no cost and heavily discounted our final bill when we discovered we needed new downspouts to match the new, larger gutters.

"We called Keys Mechanical to look at our central unit which was making sick noises and obviously struggling to cool our home. We called them based solely on the Angie's List reviews. As anyone who has lived in the Keys for any length of time knows, just getting someone to actually show up is a feat in itself let alone someone who is competent to do the job they claim they know how to do. My husband called, set up a time for someone to come look at the unit and then we waited to see what would happen. Low and behold an actual AC guy showed up, a little late but he did call ahead to let us know he was running behind. In our experience, this in itself was remarkable. It is not unusual for contractors/workers to show up late - after all everyone is on Key West time - but it is usually that they show up as much as 2-3 hours late without the courtesy of a call, explanation or God forbid an apology. Oftentimes they just don't bother to show up at all. We often wonder how they keep their businesses going without doing any work. Anyway, they showed up, performed a diagnostic, gave us the bad but not unexpected news and then proceeded to put a "bandaid" on the unit to bridge the time between getting a new unit. Gave us an estimate, told us the cost of the day would be erased if we purchased our new unit from them. We did check out one more source of a new central ac unit; the differance in price was amazing. In the meantime the "bandaid" while not perfect is certainly keeping us comfortable enough to sleep at night. We will be purchsing our new unit from them; at that time will probably write another glowing review.

"Called Mr. Yanes due to above normal humidity in the house when running the A/C. Originally thought moisture exiting from vents was due water collecting in the air handler pan. Mr. Yanes confirmed that the pan was draining properly and it was clean.
This gentleman (and he truly is) was always prompt since he came to the house on more than one occasion and worked diligently to identify and resolve air leaks that were pulling hot humid air through crevices in the metal ductwork and vent gaps, and into the house.
Very satisfied with his work.

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
