I am duly impressed!  They responded promptly to my request for an appointment.  The technician arrived at the scheduled time, and was very professional and educational.  He identified himself at the door and was wearing a polo shirt with the company name and gave me his business card.  I am recently widowed with moderate knowledge of how a heating and a/c unit works, and I sincerely appreciate the respectful interaction that I had with the technician.  He thoroughly checked the inside and outdoor units including the condensate drain line and also my dryer vent.  He found no indication of condensation on the walls or anywhere inside the unit enclosure, and suggested other reasons that may have caused the condensation to form.  There is a gap inside the cabinet where the wall meets the bottom of the cabinet.  He talked with me about reasons why condensation might form on that wall, and suggested there might be cold air intrusion around the sink water lines that met up with the warmth of the wall that adjoins the inside unit.  I was very stressed when I found the condensation, and he put my mind at ease.  I now have a plan in place on what to do if I ever find condensation on this wall again.  This has been the only time in my 11 years of living in this home that I have noticed any condensation near the unit.  I was comfortable in purchasing a service agreement with them, and I feel confident in highly recommending McKinney Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. to others.

I joined Angie's List specifically to locate a reliable and quality heating and air-conditioning service company with excellent customer service.  I wish I had joined years ago, and saved myself several less than desirable experiences with other companies.  Thank you Angie's List, and thank you McKinney Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc.!

"Better than expected. Phil was the only contractor that responded AND came to my house on the same day that I called all the other contractors. He provided me the potential problem for my heat pump issues on the phone that eventually was confirmed during his initial visit and then during disassembly of the old duct system. He was very helpful in providing me additional savings and existing tax credits for the Attic Breeze vent system installed including for the heat pump providing me with the forms. Swift service done on a short time from initial call to complete installation (less than 1 week and completed installation in 7 hours). Great job by the technicians on the installation and housekeeping after the job was completed. Ben A."

"Very good communication, arrived on time prepared for project requirements. As a past HVAC licensed contractor of 10+ years, it had potential for my being a 'difficult' client. Jamie was personable and gracious in accepting my input and participation on the repair of my system. I would hire him again and recommend him to friends, neighbors and clients of my current service business."

"This is the first time I used HomeAdvisor and I could not have been happier. Dennis from Complete Comfort called me the morning of my appointment and asked what was going on with my system. He put the parts needed to fix it on the truck. His guy showed up 10 minutes prior to the appointment time and had my unit up and running in 20 minutes. I'd hire them again in a second."

"Computer did the "gotta send info to Microsoft" but when tried to reboot it ran through automatic repair without success. I did all the alternative without any success. He came and picked up the hard drive on Tuesday and returned it on Saturday. Fortunately he was able to "restore" without any data loss. Very happy with outcome."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Suches, GA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
