Same quality and company, NEW NAME!!!! Yep we've upgraded our branding to better reflect out company goals. As always, quality products are essential for success, but without certified and trained technicians installing everything to the exact specifications for greatest success, your home wouldn't get the best results. That's why we do things right - every time. Our excellent products come with extended/lifetime warranties INCLUDED - there will never be an upcharge for a warranty. The adage "you get what you pay for" is 100% true for Insulation Geniuses. We'd rather explain the investment up front rather than trying to explain quality for the next 20 years...

"We had a horrendous situation with a basement floor installation that went wrong leaving our house full of fumes, and a week later we discovered our basement was contaminated by asbestos in the process. When we called Bill and Contractors Unlimited, they were extremely responsive. Although other companies gave us bids, Bill was able to work his schedule to fit us in weeks sooner than the others. Although the cost was a bit more, that saved us money because we were displaced and could not even go into our house because of the fumes. CU set up negative air machines to replace the air, they followed asbestos abatement laws, they cleaned every item that could be salvaged in our house. They even saved more than we thought which really reduced our overall expense. Bill and his team were extremely professional, friendly, helpful, and really went out of their way to ease our stress from this situation. At the end of their process, Bill arranged for a air quality inspection which we happily passed - able to return home. I would gladly recommend Contractors Unlimited for asbestos abatement. I just wish we had called them before the floor guys created such a disaster. Thank you Bill!

"Fantastic work! Fast, easy and professional. These guys know what they are doing. We also used Accurate Insulation last year when we bought the house, and they provided whole-house insulation to add to the original 1965 builder insulation. They were able to provide advice on what would be too much insulation and could cause poor indoor air quality. Would use them again anytime.

"These guys are fantastic! My hot water heater finally failed and was leaking in my utility closet. Luckily I found Thomas Martins on Angie's List and couldn't have been happier with their service. Over the phone Tom, the Owner, explained everything I needed to do before they arrived in order to stop any additional damage. He also explained what units/options they had for my specific home and came out within the hour to replace. Tom and his son were extremely polite, professional and trust worthy. They had by far the best price of anyone else I contacted, and the quickest response time. This also happened to be on a snow day. I highly recommend and will definitely use them again in the future."

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

"John recommended changing our bathroom to a stronger model. He also recommended removing foil insulation on the basement walls. He was very courteous and helpful."

Old insulation should be removed when it shows damage, contamination, or heavy deterioration. If you notice water stains, rodent droppings, mold, or large gaps, plan on taking it out to protect your home’s energy performance and indoor air quality. Removing compromised material eliminates health hazards, cuts energy loss, and sets the stage for a safer, more efficient attic—all while keeping utility bills in check.
R-value measures how well insulation resists heat flow—the higher the number, the better it slows heat transfer. The right R-value keeps your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer, saving energy year-round. Match the rating to your climate zone and have a pro verify performance over time, because moisture or settling can lower R-value and cut efficiency.
Attic insulation can stay in place for 80 to 100 years, but its performance often drops after the first 15. As dust, moisture, or mold build up, the material loses R-value and allows heat to escape. Schedule periodic inspections so a pro can tell you when replacement makes sense—helping you keep energy bills down and indoor comfort up.
You can over-insulate an attic. Beyond the recommended R-value, extra layers don’t add efficiency and can trap moisture, leading to mold or reduced performance. A local insulation pro can measure current levels, confirm the right target for your climate, and advise on any adjustments so you avoid future energy or maintenance headaches.
Insulation can be damaged by mold, pests, water leaks, or accidental electrical contact. When the material is compromised, it loses R-value and can introduce health hazards. Removing and replacing affected sections restores efficiency, while routine inspections from a qualified pro help you catch problems early and keep your attic safe and energy-smart.
