He found things that needed to be done that were not visible before he started. He made these repairs without charging extra. I had to insist he accept payment for the extra work.
The bar stool wrapping was very clever. He accomplished a perfect wrap around arm surfaces that were themselves a continuous curve. The result was protection that looked like it was part of the barstool design (and probably should have been).
