This was an impressive crew of 2 young men who were eager to show me their skills.  I'm an experienced gardener and landscaper, and I'm embarassed to say I prejudged their potential because they seemed too young, but it was obvious right off the bat from deft work and landscape jargon that they knew exactly what they were doing.  The man who handled my junipers took time to show me how previous 'trim' jobs had made the trees more difficult to control and what I could do to improve their future.

I have a young (10-year-old) oak tree in my front yard with branches over the street and sidewalk.  I learned what the city considers minimum clearance to allow streetsweeper trucks and pedestrians to move freely, and decided I wanted the lowest limbs removed to be in compliance.  This was not part of the original job estimate, but that work went quickly and there was still time available, so the wayward limbs were removed and the second man scaled this tree, which I thought would support only a cat, and gave it a haircut, making the overall shape beautiful without losing its 'natural' look.

While a few small branches that were snipped were later discovered left in the juniper, the bulk of the debris was otherwise cleaned up and removed.

I appreciated the promptness, courtesy and good advice of these fellows, not to mention their topnotch work.  If I can find the invoice I'll ask for them by name next time.
