"The process started with a VKB designer, Sean, coming to our house to look at our bathroom and provide an estimate. A few days later, we went to the VKB showroom and selected our tile with Sean's advice. Five days after that, the remodeling workers began the project. Our project lead was named Jason. VKB left a lock box on the door to our house with our key in it so that we did not have to be at home while they were working. From start to finish the project took 3 weeks. Each day when the workers arrived, they would lay down canvas on the floor from the entrance of the house all the way upstairs to the master bathroom to keep the carpet clean. They would also hang plastic covers over the furniture in our bedroom to protect them from dust. Our garage was used to store a lot of materials, equipment, and trash through the process, so we could not park our car in there. Fortunately, we had easy access to street parking. Each day, Jason would call us in the evening to make sure everything was going okay. He was always very accessible and attentive to our concerns. At the end of the project, our tile selections turned out looking great and all of the finishing details were well done. The custom glass enclosure also looked great and fit perfectly. "I could have gotten this work done cheaper, but I wanted high quality work done for my new home, so I went with Willis after much research.
Willis Builders put Giovanni on the project, and he made sure everything went smoothly. When I needed to delay portions of the project in order to finish basement waterproofing, he worked with me. When I needed minor changes made to the floor plan, he accommodated me without issues. Giovanni made sure the steam shower is 100% vapor proof all around. We put the steam generator in the basement, and ran copper piping all the way up to the top floor, and it works great.
The master bathroom involved some high finish levels, and Giovanni's crew made it look gorgeous, including the wood arch over the bathtub. Even odd things I wanted which they hadn't seen before, like a heated mirror inset in the shower tile walls and a floor-mounted urinal in the basement utility room's concrete floor, were handled competently and carefully.
I paid for all materials, so Willis had no reason to skimp on anything. Giovanni took care of all the little things I asked for, and made the whole experience easy.
In the end, the renovation is beautiful, and I'm thrilled.

"The deck and porch themselves were bult very well compared to the poor to p***-poor workmanship that is the average in Northern Virginia.  The price was much too high, but consistent with the normal price gouging in Northen Virginia.  If you do business with this company, you must keep in mind that you are dealling with three different entities that do not communicate well:  1. They guy who will design and sell the project to you.  2. The guys that will actually build the project. and 3. The company owner/supervisor. 
Do not assume that what you buy from 1 is what 2 and 3 will provide.  The builders (2) did not even have a copy of the detailed plans and contract details from  the designer (1) until we gave them a copy near the end of the project. 
Ensure that the designer writes every single thing down because if it is not written, the owner will not honor any verbal agreements or commitments made by the designer.  There is no such thing as "normal" or "given expectation"  or "it only makes sense to ..." 
Finally, if you know anything about building and want special methods or design criteria met, you must be onsite to carefully guide the builders - they seem to only know "their way" of doing things.  For example, if you want wooden support posts to be set on concrete pillars instead of buried in the ground, you must first ensure that they received the requirements from the designer, then you will need to show them the proper way to set the pillars and then place the posts on them.  If you do not want enclosed rooms simply bolted through the siding on your house, you will need to be there to ensure that the siding is removed and then replaced.  And of course, make sure that such things are specifically stated in the contract. 
Following my own advice from above,  I would possibly use this company again in the future.  The actual builders were very good in general skill and worked tirelessly in frankly brutal heat, but if I were going to invest so much of my own time and effort in the job, I could probably guide some less skilled laborers and get the job done for much less. 
For the price, I expected a superior experience and deliverable, but only got a good product with a bit of frustration.  I guess for Northern Virginia, I made out like a bandit ...Heck, two previous guys in similar businesses didn't even show up to the job that they agreed to do.
Bottom line:  These guys can build a superior standard deck.  They need close supervision for jobs beyond that.
