"Josh and his crew are professional, trustworthy and reliable. The quality of their work is excellent. They are friendly and courteous and we were very comfortable having them in and around our home. The goal of our project was to remove the old wooden siding, do some structural repairs and replace the old siding with Hardie Board. We also extended our back deck and added a gable over it. We hired Josh after firing another contractor who was dishonest and did poor quality work which could have caused major problems. He left us with no siding on the house for a month with cold weather coming. Josh had to fix the first contractor's mistakes before continuing with the job. Many people would have taken advantage of our situation, but Josh worked out the most efficient ways to get the job done and save money whenever possible. He is a problem solver, and when you add the mistakes of the first contractor to the unexpected surprises lurking in a 30 year old house, there were many challenges to overcome. We are very pleased with the final results. Our house is structurally sound again and it looks great. We highly recommend J&H Construction, and we are already planning to hire them for future projects"

"Mike was very professional and knowledgeable. He came out, surveyed the house and discussed my options and the work to be performed. His proposal was done on-site within about 5 to 10 minutes. After he gave me the proposal, he asked about staining my decks (I was going to do it myself and the materials were sitting on the porch). I advised him I was going to do it after I returned from vacation. He offered to take care of it for me, along with the painting, for no additional charge.
After I received a quote from a competitor (he knew who I had called w/o me telling him), I accepted his quote. Mike was out the next day (Friday) and power-washed the house. He returned the following Monday and painted the house and stained the deck.
While Mike impressed me with his professionalism and quick response - he's got very good customer service skills - I'm a little disappointed in the work due to the fact he didn't scrape and clean up the paint that had chipped away. If I had to do it again, I would make sure this was a part of the deal.
It may be partly my fault for not making it 100% clear this was part of my expectations. However, at the same time, I also feel he could have brought it up as well. For the price he charged, I really can't complain too much, considering he came in $2400.00 below his competitor (who didn't mention painting and scraping either) and the house looks good except for chipped sections.
No matter - i would still use him again - and will.
As a side-note, I found out Mike has other connections for handyman work and I'll more than likely go through him just simply because he's gained my trust.
