"I gave a 3 star rating after careful consideration. There is siding and guttering on my house, so there was some work done on my home. Please note that 3 out of 5 is equal to 60%, which is just shy of a failing grade. I spent $38,500 for the work done on my home. I wanted so badly to have a good experience and be happy with the quality of work. Unfortunately, that was not at all what I received. I made a $5,000 down payment in November 2019. Work was to begin at the end of January 2020. Owner, Lewis Gonzalez, kept putting me off and the work did not actually begin until June 2020. I am a pharmacist and was dealing with the early phase of the COVID pandemic, so I was somewhat distracted during this time. I definitely wish I would have ended the business relationship during the 5 month delay, but hindsight is always 20/20. Lewis had two young men that he called "the Russian guys" working on my project. Much of their work was questionable at best. These gentlemen ripped the dryer ventilation duct apart while removing the exterior vent, covered up rotted wood that I had specifically pointed out to be removed and replaced, screwed siding trim into styrofoam backing, etc. I could go on, but I have pictures of the work that will better detail the situations. Then, during the second week of work, Lewis informed that "the Russian guys" were going on vacation and would not be finishing the work on my home. Lewis and some of his other workers finished the job. I had two garages doors that were to be removed so that an exterior wall could be built to enclose the garage. A double door was also to be installed as part of the wall. Daylight can be seen from inside the garage where there is an open gap. Standing outside the garage, you can see areas of unprotected plywood, used to construct the wall, behind the siding. I recently learned that the plywood is not nailed into the 2x4 framing, so the exterior wall is actually bowed out. Inside the garage, the 2x4 framing does not meet in the corners where it was erected. The guttering has been another catastrophe. Work was "completed" the week after 4th of July weekend in 2020. The following week I saw where the gutter opening dumped water on a junction between the shingles and fascia of another part of the roof. I sent Lewis a video on 7/13/2020 of the situation. He told me multiple times in the intervening months that it would be corrected. It is still not corrected. It is a strange coincidence that the roof failed at this very location and has caused water damage to the ceiling in the interior garage. I could go on and on about the frustrations and disappointments of this past year since the work began, but I think photos and videos would do a much better job of conveying my feelings. I recently signed up for Facebook again so I could get these pictures and videos online. I thought I was finished with social media in 2011 when I closed my Facebook account, but here I am again. "They were very professional, they got here in the time frame suggested. The two installers worked well together, and they were so nice and answered any questions we had on the windows, they even showed us how to unlock for cleaning. They cleaned up after themselves and took time to make sure all windows were put in right and made sure there were no gaps or holes in the foam and caulking. "Two of them came out. There was a long list and we were happy to pay more, but I was not pleased when I got home. I wanted the caulking in the shower redone and they did not get to that. There is a gate in a storage thing out in the side yard and the door needed patching. I just did not like coming home. I felt like they rushed and just did not get it all done or even attempted to get it done. The price was not the issue. I just wanted those things done. With two of them here, I felt like they could have done more."

"This work was done through Choice Home Warranty, with the repair being given to Sears Services. The first Technician diagnosed the problem as being the heating element on the bottom of the ice maker not working, so the dumping motor was under stress to push out the ice from the tray. The ice maker was replaced and tested fine. However, the new ice maker was a new model (the freezer is 13 years old) and appeared to be identical except that the ice maker plug cover did not connect to the freezer wall to cover the plug. The cover was left pushed down on the electric cord and in the path of the back finger that pushes out the rear cube. That stopped the ice maker from working. Only notice it about 30 minutes after the Technician left. Called within hours but had to wait a week for the next appointment. That second appointment was postponed due to an illness of the Technician and pushed back to the following week. The Technician who came completely removed (cut off) the plug cover, which may not have been necessary. I think it would have been possible to cut off the 2 inserts molded into the cover intended to snap into slots in the freezer wall (the old cover used screws to hold it to the wall) and cover the plug and the multi-colored wires going into it. Now all that is visible. I also had the second Technician adjust the side-by-side, separate framed refrigerator and freezer as they had been misaligned by a prior Technician. The magnetic spacer between the units was preventing the refrigerator door from properly closing. The Technician was thorough in his work, removing the bottom panel of the frame kit to get to the levelers on the bottom of the units and also be able to grab and shift the units into alignment. After he left we noticed that the refrigerator door, though closing properly, seems to be easier to open . . . . like the magnetic seal is not as strong. The door closes tight but just seems different. Don't know why."

"Excellent work. They took the time and really listened to what I wanted done . The windows were triple-pane and replaced perfectly. One of my windows was a garden window that was a little out of the ordinary, but they were able to replace it with no problems. Siding was beautiful. The detail around the doors, corners and windows was superior to those who had done my siding before. Roofs on my barns were replaced as well as my home and they have never been better. They went beyond my expectations to be sure I was satisfied with everything. Highly recommend them!"

"The day I called the company for an estimate Randy was at my home in less than 2 hours.  Approximately one week later I called back and requested Randy come down again, I had more questions and needed to show him something to see how much more that would cost.  He was in the area again and was at my house in less than an hour.  (Randy spends a lot of time on the road).  He answered all my questions and I liked what he had to say and what was written on the estimate.
I had contacted another roofing company for an estimate to weigh my options however, it took days before they came to give estimate and didn't seem all that interested in getting my business.  I just didn't get the right feeling with this company.
I contacted Randy and told him I wanted Able Roofing to do the job.  I signed and dated the estimate sheet which is also the contract after being signed and faxed it to him.  He then ordered the materials needed for the job.  A few days later I was informed by Randy that the company producing the shingles no longer manufactured the ones I wanted.  I had a back up color and the materials were delivered that same evening and the crew showed up at 9 a.m. the next morning.
 The crew consisted of the supervisor named Jorge, and workers named Ilicio (hope I spelled that correctly), Roberto and Justin.  They immediately got to work.  Everyone was on the roof tearing/scraping one layer of shingles on the newer part of the house  two layers on the larger and older part of the house.  Old shingles were being tossed into the trailer as they were being ripped off.  I made sure I was out of the line of fire because these guys were on a roll!  Don't misunderstand I was not in danger, they were totally focused on this job.  This crew worked their tails off!  Justin started on the roof and then came down to the ground and starting picking up all the items that missed the trailer and just kept cleaning up.  Throughout the day after shingles were removed, they started the process of replacing damaged decking and removing old flashing and metal eaves, laying asphalt felt and doing what needed to be done.  They were able to start placing shingles on the home but were unable to complete the first day even though they stayed until 7 p.m.
Three of the four crew members arrived at 7 a.m. the next morning.  The supervisor Jorge, Ilicio and Roberto, got right to work and were finished at approximately noon.  They cleaned up EVERYTHING!  Blew all the trash off the roof, out of the gutters, cleaned up all trash from the ground.  They had a magnet they used to go around the house and pick up any stray nails etc.  To be honest the sidewalk and driveway looked better than when they arrived. 
The roof looks amazing!  These men worked their tails off!!  They were polite, professional, answered any questions and were totally focused on the job.  I could not have asked for a better or more efficient crew than these gentlemen.  They really are an asset to Able Roofing and Construction.  
This entire company from owner Rick who I talked with to DeeAnn the secretary who I talked with and Randy the estimator and the crew I could not have been in better hands.  
I highly recommend Able Roofing and Construction to ANYONE needing work done that this company performs.
