"We had storm damage on our 1950's rambler--the roof/gutters/siding all needed to be replaced. This was complicated when lead was found in the paint of our redwood siding. We had several contractors come out, assess the damage and then never responded again. When Rick's came out to give us a quote, they were on time, gave us a fair, clear quote and met with our insurance adjuster to make sure the adjuster understood the complexity of the project and the potential cost. Without Rick going to bat for us with the adjuster, we could never had afforded to get our house properly fixed. Rick's replaced our entire exterior including removing/replacing the windows, soffits, facia, gutters, roof and siding. It was a major renovation on our little house and garage. - They were the third contractor to look at the leak I had into my house.  The other two contractors were not able to identify the problem.  Lakewoods Remodeling did.
- They identified that the leak was due to the sliding and not the roof.  However, there was a concern that removing and reattaching the 25 year old sliding would be difficult.  The siding was no longer available and I didn't want to pay for all new siding.  Lakewoods Remodeling did a detailed analysis on my situation and guaranteed that they could remove the old siding, make the repair, and reattach the old siding.
- They successfully completed the repair and did such a good job that myself and my wife had no idea that the work had been completed while we were at work.  It looked just like before and there was no evidence that they had been there.

"When my husband and I were ready to move forward with the remodel, we researched several contractor options. We were looking for someone who performed quality work, who was trustworthy and who we could forge a long-term relationship with, as we continue to tackle our project "wish list" over the coming years. I found Higgins Construction on Angie's List and was impressed by not only the company's work portfolio, but also the owner's (Mike) values. He came out to meet with us shortly after we initiated contact, and I knew it was a good fit immediately. The remodel took place over the course of approximately two months (side note: at the time, Mike was booking work about three to four months out). Mike's team gutted the bathroom (we kept the toilet since it was in good shape and then the bathtub got refinished versus replaced). Mike's team installed new floors, dry wall, shower tile, canned lights and some new piping that was needed. We also worked with Mike's cabinet guy to custom design a new vanity that worked better for the space. Throughout the process, Mike kept us updated on what was going to happen when, who would be in and out of the house, and where we were at with the budget (and we really needed to stick to ours). His team had access to the house via a lock box, and were respectful of both our home and three pets (we crated/confined them if Mike's team was here when we weren't). The only reason I gave Higgins Construction a "B" for punctuality is because on some occasions, we'd be given a window of days when someone would show up versus a particular day. It took me a little longer to adjust to this as I'm more of a planner than my husband, but by a few weeks in, I wasn't giving it another thought and just operated on the assumption that someone would be here. The end result was beautiful and for all of the reasons cited, we absolutely will be using Mike and his team for future work (next up is likely a garage overhaul, in the spring)!

"Our old 1919 house needed more than a simple face lift. We got a couple of estimates, and Modern Exteriors came in several thousand dollars lower. Scott seemed knowledgeable and easy to work with, so we hired them. Our old house was leaky, so the sandblasting created lots of dust inside the house despite their best efforts to seal it. The only other hang up was the discovery of rotten studs underneath the old stucco. Scott connected us with carpenters who were able to expedite the repair, and we're happy with the finished exterior."
